On the Horizon

I have realized that what fills my heart with so much peace and joy is the horizon that I can see from my own home.
I can literally see 180 degrees of sky. It is lovely and it is a view that gives me peace.
Sure, I can see and hear a couple of highways, but they are not close. The clouds here look different to me than any I have seen before and the stars at night are magnificent.
I am thankful that we have found this place to live.
I hope you love what you see from your home, or have joys inside your home that you love.

Your view sounds tranquil. We have a view from the front of a seasonal creek and the back of a dairy and its black and white cows. Geese and ducks and other water birds fly in now to the water. Our sunsets and sunrises are outstanding here and due to little house lights, star shine at night.

@GardenGerty We're working into the colder season but I'm trying to make myself get out for a few moments most days and just wander our little property, just cause.

I get the s illiest charge out of watching the alley and the big Vietnamese grocery store and thed birds and also the employ ees that work there even the o ne who has bladder problems and goes behind a big su permarket condenser for their freezers. Im sure that is what he is doing as he c omes out always buttoning up his trousers lol

Living too close is always a concern. The field across the road from me is still referred to as "the old football field" and it is now a Frisbee park. It is so fun to see family oriented things going on over there.

@GardenGerty You have a nice peaceful view and life. Not here. Although I love the city, I cannot take the noise anymore. As I get older it gets more annoying.

I live in a neighborhood on a hill rather outside of town. We have 3/4 of an acre but neighbors are close around so no big view.

Our lots add up to about 1/3 acre. The closest house is vacant, abandoned more or less. The neighbor on the other side is behind a tree row. You hardly see a thing.

I could picture in my mind, the beauty you are beholding each day!
I also am thankful in fact so thankful for the beautiful place I live. Each morning as I wake up, the sight of the happy, tweeting birds flying and hopping from one tree to another gives me immediate joy.

The view from my back porch is lovely, it looks as though we are up against a forest, we are not, but during most of the year you cannot tell their are homes past those trees, just in the winter

There is a drainage system that is "natural" not concrete behind us, with trees on our side. The leaves are gone so we see the neighbors, sort of, but it is still full of nature sounds.

When I lived in NY I couldn't see the stars at night. It was one of the first things I noticed when I moved to Pennsylvania. Now I can see stars every night and it's amazing

We have quite a variety of birds around so I get to hear them daily and the squirrels run in the trees and scold me.

At home , i can't see much of the sky because we are surrounded by big trees on vacant lots surrounding our neighborhood .
But at The office , i can see the mountain and the sky , when i open the blinds in the mid morning . Such a glorious sight from God.

We have a view like that from the back of our home. It really puts things into perspective when you can see the sun rise or set, and see a whole rainbow, there really are no words for it are there? Our yard borders on the back to a farmer's field, so there is plenty to see for a long ways. I don't necessarily enjoy the strong winds that blow when they come from that direction, but I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Wow that is wonderful. Isn't it a nice feeling when you fell so good in your home and know this is where you love and want to be.

I wil never forget the first time we moved from a city or suburb to a five-acre block with sheep in the paddock next door and chickens out the back. It was just heaven.
