Come on dad’s around the world we know how important it is to be there when your baby is born. But do you need to resort to such measure as calling the hospital about a bomb threat.
Yes believe it or not this Utah father-to-be Michael Morlang called the hospital to try and delay his wife’s giving birth to their child. The ill responsible and selfish father wanted to be there when their baby was born, but was stuck in Idaho on business.
Failed attempts to delay his wife giving birth to their baby lead to drastic measure and a stupid call on this man behalf. His last attempt was to tell the hospital there was a bomb there. What this guy didn’t know is that his wife had already delivered their baby.
Now think about how this poor child will grow up without a father for about the first 10 years of his life. Can you imagine what will be said about him when he starts school? Hopefully everyone will forget about it as he grows older, but will his wife ever forgive him for this stupid, selfish act he did. The nightmares they face today have only started. Calling in a bomb to a hospital is a serious Federal offence.
Would you be that stupid and selfish to do something like this?

In his case they might of. His wife was to have a C-section and not a normal birth. So they scheduled this date way in advance and he knew of this before he ever left. That is what makes it even worse what he did. He called the hospital and wanted them to reschedule her C-section for another time. They said they couldn't because they needed the room for another procedure after this. He couldn't take the answer no so he did what he did which was a big mistake.

Yes believe it or not this dad went that far to call the hospital several times trying to get them to delay his wife from giving birth. When all else failed he called in a bomb. People knew it was him and not too hard to figure out. So instead of seeing his baby when he arrived at the hospital he saw a set of handcuffs waiting for him. Now how stupid can you be.

@gabs8513 I couldn't agree with you more. He made the mistake and then he wants everyone to work around his schedule. This isn't how hospital work and he should know this one. They can have a time for her and then push her to another time and take another person. These people have certain time in operating room and that is how it is.

This man in my thoughts is stone mad. To do such a thing requires a really twisted brain.

@TiarasOceanView I can see him wanting to be there for the birth of his child. He should of considered it before he left. I guess he is twisted and his job was more important and his stupid act was an after thought.

All I can say about this story is: 'What a stupid father to think of that stupid thing!"

@poehere Well, maybe he is still a young father. When I was young I did some stupid things, too. When I was 21 I drove my car very fast along the highway .. and I was drunk! . . Every time that stupid thing I did comes to my mind, I would always sigh . . "Thank God, no one got hurt from my stupidity!"

@antonbunot I think I read in another article he was 29. I guess I was young when I had my daughter and this stopped me from doing a lot of stupid things I more than likely would of done if I didn't have her. Plus I was a single mom from the time she was 13 month on. Her dad only showed back up in her life 2 years ago just before she turned 37.

@cacay1 She was scheduled to have a C-Section and not a normal deliver. He didn't want them to take the baby or do the C-Section until he arrived. But it was too late and they had already done the C-Section and his baby was already here.

You are so correct. I hope his wife leaves him for this stupid act of selfishness. He knew when she was having this baby and why not just take the day off instead of going to work. He basically could of taken 2 days off before this so he would of been there.

A pretty extreme thing to do - he deserves everything he gets - he should have found better excuses to be there for the birth rather than trying to control when it would happen

He could of always talked to his boss and they could of sent another person. When they scheduled all of this he could of immediately take a vacation day and told his boss how important it was. No he left knowing good and well he would miss this.

No, I would not be that stupid, ever. I cannot think of what the child will go through.

@just4him I hope his mom will move away and change her name. The best would be for the press to focus on him and not the child. They should leave the child out of this one and not even tell anyone if it is a boy or girl. I think this might be the only hope this poor child will have when they grow up and start school.

I live about 5 miles from the Washington/Idaho border and usually hear news out of Idaho. This story I hadn't heard. Some people just don't use their brains anymore.

@RichardMeister No sorry I can't think this one would ever happen. Why because of all the bombs and problems around the world. This guy will be used as an example of what not to do and what will happen if you do this one.

This story went viral online and there is so many people talking about it. I was so shocked when I heard this one. I know there is a lot of this on YouTube and you can search for it. But basically all of them are the same and say this father just won the most stupidest and selfish father award of the year. I had to agree with them on this one.

@poehere I agree that this guy deserves the most stupidest and selfish father award of the year. But I will not be surprised if this guy ends up in front of a sympathetic judge that will give him probation with restitution to the hospital.

if we gave awards for stupidest father then he will beat all and get first prize, because he doing work is totally irresponsible, what feel her wife when she knew what his husband doing and saying.i don't understand that for him how business is more important then family, and specially child born.i think if he said that i am busy in meeting ,so i cant reach there then it should be some way legal reason but this is disgusting, i dont know how his wife spent time with him and what she feel now.

@birjudanak I have no idea. Unless they are sort of poor, his company won't pay him unless he works, or he just didn't think ahead. If it was that important to him he would of been there no matter what.

You have that one right. It was a very stupid move. He could of ask the person with his wife to film it for him or he could of been smart and called in sick to work.

@poehere He could've just called the hospital to find out whether his wife has given birth already. BTW, it's not a pretty sight, so he prolly should be glad he missed it.

@Drosophila Well she was having the baby taken and this one would of not been a good one to see. Well anyhow he is stupid and now he won't get to see this child for a long time to come.

It was pretty stupid of him to do that. I can't imagine what kind of business he had in another state judging by the way he looks. Hopefully, they will be lenient with him for the child's sake, or would the child be better of without him?
