I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon. I am nervous about it, but I do have planned out what I need to say. I thought I would post about it on here, so others who might have my medical issues, know they have someone who they can talk to.
I would first like to mention that this is a new doctor. I was seeing one, who I liked, but she moved to another location and then all the locations stopped taking my insurance. I would also like to mention that, although I liked her, I don’t know if she was necessarily familiar with my medical issues.
Just to catch you all up on the medical issues I have, here is a list.
-Endometriosis
-Hypertension (High Blood pressure)
-PCOS (Which causes an insulin resistance not related to diabetes)
-Possible Fibromyalgia (every doctor I have been to, thinks I have it, but hasn’t had me tested)
-Possible cholesterol issues (last time I went to the doctor, my Triglycerides were high and I eat pretty healthy. She put me on something for it, but I also have read that people with PCOS can have crazy readings like that)
-Depression (mild)
-Anxiety (severe)
-Migraines
Here is a list of my random symptoms I deal with on a daily basis.
-widespread pain, not just in one location.
-sometimes when I take a shower and the water hits my back, it feels like someone is dragging nails across my back.
-random rashes that have nothing to do with anything I put on my skin, because I really don’t put anything on my skin.
-issues with sweating. I get hot easily. In fact, I always have my room below 65 degrees, because I always feel hot.
-I have to shower 2-4 times a day, because I always feel hot and sweaty. My mom thinks I am OCD, but I am not the neatest person and I shower because I feel sweaty, not because I feel that I have to.
-menstrual cramps that leave me bed ridden.
-my period can sometimes be so light I don’t need feminine hygiene products and other times it can be so heavy that I go through a box of tampons in a day.
**EXTREMELY HARD TO LOSE WEIGHT. The ONLY time I have has success with weight loss is is when I was doing Zumba 3x a day, barely ate and was on metformin.
Those are the basic symptoms I have.
So here is what I am going to say tomorrow, or at least something along these lines.
I am going to first off tell the doctor my top priorities are my weight and my blood pressure. I am then going to tell him that I am doing my best to lose weight, but nothing ever seems to work. I work out (well I did before I got sick. I have had bronchitis for a few weeks)and follow the “insulin resistance/PCOS” diet. I don’t eat out very much. Maybe 1x every 2-4 weeks. My mom has seen my eating habits as well and gets upset that others assume I eat junk.
Next, I am going to tell him that I want to find out what exactly is wrong with me. I will tell him that I seem to have several issues getting sick easily. Every time I get my period, I have a cold right before or right after. SO every month, I am getting a cold.
When others have a cold, I end up with bronchitis or something along those lines. My family used to think I was a hypochondriac, but then they noticed and realized that everytime I said something was wrong and needed medical treatment, there was something wrong.
I have mood swings and feel down and lose interest easily. I also have major anxiety issues. The simple things that others can deal with, to me can be the most stressful thing to deal with.
I will let him know about my medical issues as well as possible medical issues. I will also tell him about my issues sleeping. I will tell him what has worked in the past and tell him that if we go that route (I was on valium for the anxiety and back pain, because I have trouble sleeping. I can’t shut my brain off) I don’t want to be doing that forever.
I will also let him know that I feel like if most of my medical issues are being taking care of, I think the anxiety and depression won't be as bad.
Then I will tell him I need a referral for an OB/GYN, because of my history with endometriosis and PCOS.
I forgot to mention above that I have been on medication for my blood pressure. It works for 2 weeks and then stops. They raise it and we go through the same thing. Both my mom and my maternal grandfather have to be on a combination of Blood pressure medication.
I know this is a lot to take in. HA HA. Believe me I do. I just wanted to write out what I am dealing with and get others perspectives. Maybe there is someone who has been through all of this and knows what the issue might be. Thank you for listening. Or reading.

ask many questions, some of this may be related to one thing, the getting sick before the cycle might be the whole drop in imune system thing. and I was thinking the same thing as @Plethos, I have thyroid issues myself and much of what you said reminds me of that.

That's on my list of things I think the issue could be. I think I might have an auto immune disorder, because I do get sick A LOT. I know that at one time they were trying to classify endometriosis as an auto immune disorder, I have no idea what became of that.

oh wow! thats a lot of issues going on with you. i hope you also dont hav thyroid issues, because some of your symptoms sort of remind me of someone who i know with the condition. OCD is a compulsory disorder, it doesnt always have to deal with being a neat freak. best of luck to you.

I know that my thyroid has been checked before, but I think my friend who has thyroid issues , didn't always have it show up that way. I plan to have them check that.

Thank you. As I said, the anxiety issue is crazy. I am overly stressing it, as I always do and in the end, it was for nothing.

bless yer heart, what a time y'ave had! i'd be interested to know if'n ya were given fluoroquinolones when ya fell so ill when ya were 8. i'd also be most interested in genetic testin'. perhaps ya can visit with yer doc 'bout, 't the very least, gettin' tested fer mthfr gene mutations. they can cause many 'f the symptoms ya describe 'n most doc's ignore this fact entirely. best 'f luck to ya, hon. sendin' healin' hugs!!

I think that you might find @crazyhorseladycx post One Step Closer interesting. Some of the symptoms you are describing sound similar to some she describes which are the result of her taking a certain type of antibiotic and she is suffering from fluoroquinolone toxicity.

I will look it over, but these are issues I have been dealing with all my life. At least since I was 8. I am 30 now. I do know that when I had my tonsils out at 23, the doctor said the infection was so deeply embedded that there was no way antibiotics could touch it completely and he said that infection could have been there since I was a kid.
I had a REALLY bad infection when I was 8. Which is when several of my issues started. So it might be possible that the initial infection is why I have so many issues. We see odd things like this every day. Who knows.
