My drawing tablet broke

I have been so sad today I tried to plug in my tablet and it wont turn on. It was getting old and I needed a new one but I was hoping to have it before this one died. Looks like I will be drawing with pencil and paper for the next few weeks :(

Is it something like a Wacom tablet? My sons use them for their school work.
