There was much beauty in my part of the world this morning. The crunchy frost of the cold night was soon joined by the pink skies of a rising sun. As the world warmed up, the sky flirted with more colour. Oranges, blues, more pink, fluffy white clouds ... All reflected in the lake, ducks breaking up the smoothness of the water, ripples of fish swimming by.
Beautiful.
And then a heron chose to break the monotony of my walk from bus stop to work. Look at me! he seemed to squawk as he gracefully landed on the top of a very tall tree and surveyed his Kingdom. He remained perfectly still, perhaps in an effort to tease me. I've seen him do this before. I think he thinks it makes him invisible.
I feel calm now. The storm has not yet descended into the office and there is peace and tranquility. I best prepare before the whirlwind who are my beloved colleagues and friends breeze into the room.
Beauty does not last for ever.

I've never seen a pair. Only one on its lonesome. Oh, I saw three flying overhead once. They are weirdly lovely.

@Poppylicious That's good! As long as you can find the positive in a day, it's a blessing.

It did for most of the day. Went a bit downhill at about four, but a long walk to the cinema put a positive spin on the world again!

I always notice the beauty around me. I'm the sort of person who people grumble about because I keep my head down playing games on my phone, but what they don't realise is that I see everything. Sneaky!

Ah, the storm was more of a slight breeze in the end. Two absentees and one who doesn't work on a Monday meant that it was calm and peaceful. I expect today to be a different story.
