DC Comics 1968 – Spoiler alerts With a forth-coming movie pitching Batman & Superman against one another it seems timely to review a comic depicting an earlier fight between them. Each is approached by an alien claiming to need defending against an evil member of their own people so in swearing to help them, Batman & Superman end up supporting opposing sides. Batgirl, Robin and Supergirl get caught up in the struggle too. Sadly, the big showdown is staged as the aliens prove to be a single ageing movie actor with a desire to put on a convincing last performance before he dies, and Superman saw through his disguises with his X-Ray vision. He and Batman are just playing along to humour him. No one is in real danger until the sidekicks start taking sides as no one has clued them in on the truth. Quite cleverly done but a preposterous cop-out as how an actor on his death bed can put on such a speed suit and effect such a rapid costume change performance is stretching credibility beyond breaking point. lol Yes well the whole premise of Batman and Superman is a little preposterous to begin with.

absolutely, as Superman is near god-like and Batman is a man in a costume - it would really be no contest.

I don't like the idea of the two against each other. They should be united and fight evil together LOL

I prefer them to keep the heroes apart as if in completely different Worlds

@gudheart I am looking forward to it as it will generate interest in the comics and offer Marvel some competition.

It sounds pretty weird to see Batman against Superman. I believe that Batman has no chance here.

All i am hoping, as I mentioned before too, is that Zack snyder doesn't screw this up!!! DC comics movie future is banking on this!! All the repo that Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Snyder's Man of Steel have built are banking on this!!
