I am a top level sailor and am offering up advice to those who have questions about sailing at the Olympic or World level or even those who have never sailed before. Ask me and I will do my best to give you a straight forward and honest answer.

All my experience has been crewing the last 2 summers. What course would you recommend for a not so beginner. I crew on a 28ft and a 27ft. One if for races the other leisure. Both are on Lake Michigan.

The best way to learn is by doing. You have been crewing for the same people I suppose. Try getting positions helping someone move a boat to learn Cruising experience or positions with different boats racing. Different sizes and different skippers. You will learn more if you get exposure from different people.
There are many schools that teach sailing. Make sure they are ASA or US Sailing Certified and they will be just fine. US Sailing is more toward racing than ASA. ASA is more cruising.
My sailing partner just took over a sailing school that is going to be much better now that he has taken over.
