How Would You Feel If Someone Wants to Clean Your Already Clean House?

My sister has someone who comes to her already clean house and wants to clean it more. She will not use the toilet until she bleaches it. She will not take a shower until it is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. She will not drink from bottled water until the cap is cleaned off. The list goes on. My sister has a clean house and this makes her feel like the visitor is looking at her as nasty. I'm assuming the visitor has OCD or some issue that causes her to be germophobic. On one hand, I would feel offended. On the other hand, I might just sit back and laugh and let the visitor keep at it until I had nothing left to do. How would you feel in this situation?

I would try very hard to understand this persons need to clean and you are probably right about the germophobic tendencies.

I think I would feel offended as well, but it seems like the visitor just couldn't help herself, so I guess I'd just try to understand her situation. I used to have a housemate that always requires us to clean the house, though we think the house is already quite clean. She understood she was quite demanding, but she just couldn't help it. So, we just tried to clean up to her standard.
I am just wondering how if she has children, as young children certainly will make messes around. ![](/Content/images/emotes/rolleyes.gif)

I would be annoyed as well. If it was my sister - I would tell her that it was annoying for her to suggest that and the answer is no. Of course me and my sister are pretty close so I feel like she wouldnt be mad. So I guess it depends. Otherwise just try to ignore her. Ironically my sister is qlso very OCD about cleanliness and orgqnization, although she has never suggested to clean my place. Lol.

I'd show them where I keep the cleaning products and tell her to have a great time. I have no patience with that kind of rudeness, can you tell?

Yes, I can and many would agree with you. I'm sure I would feel offended at first because someone coming to your clean house and wants to clean sends a message that your home isn't good enough. But, I'd probably take a step back and realize that the person has a problem and is probably like that with everyone. Then, I'd sit back and watch. Well, maybe lol

I'm not sure, now if she wants to come clean my house so I don't have to, that I'm ok with.

Hey, if a compulsion to clean is her only obsession send her my way. There are days when I could use a friend like that, yesterday was a good example.

It definitely sounds like your sister's friend has either OCD or an issue with germs. I doubt it has anything to do with her house not being clean enough...

No, no no! I had to put up with this occasionally from my mother-in-law. She is an amazing cleaner and tidier, but it's my house and my germs, and I like things just the way they are.
