What to do to get menus in my blog?

What he needs is menus on the site to break up his posts. I think they are not actually menus but they are considered categories. They are on the side bar either to the left or right or across the top of the page. This way he can split up his content. I think he needs to give more info on this one. We don't even have an idea what platform he is using.

Did you mean recipes or actually menu as in the list of food/drinks available in restaurants?
