It Was the Last One in the Shop (Part 2)

You may have read my earlier post about how I bought a faulty halogen heater that was in a battered box, but as it was the last one in stock I took it Yesterday I took the heater back to the shop, intending to get a refund, but, lo and behold, they suddenly had an abundance of the very same heater in a store room upstairs. "I was told there were none in stock," I said. "Maybe there was a delivery this morning," the woman on the checkout said. The manager, who was inspecting my broken heater took a more cynical view. "More likely they couldn't be bothered to go upstairs to check," he said - and I am leaning towards his version of events. If this is true, then it is terrible customer service.I specifically asked if there were any more heaters in stock, as I was wary of taking one in a battered and taped up box. I was told that there were none. It was icy cold and raining heavily yesterday when I returned to the shop - and my inconvenience was probably unnecessary. At least the replacement heater works.
