Something that I never fail to do on any given day is read. I can read an enjoy almost every genre. The only thing I don't really care for is sci-fi. Sorry about that sci-fi fans. I have quite a large collection of books, much to my husbands dismay. Some I have read and am unwilling to part with, and some I have yet to read. There is not much that I like to do more than curl up with a good book. Unfortunately, like most of us, I do not have the time to spare for a real reading session. I have to take little spaces of time whenever I can. I imagine that just about everyone here likes reading. I also hear that writers are among the most prolific readers around. What do you think?

Both my husband and I like to read books and I always read for about one hour before turning off the lamp on my night stand. I am starting a new book this evening "Inferno" by Dan Brown.

@HazySue No, in the bathroom is the only place where I do not keep books.

@LadyDuck I keep a book in the bathroom just in case I have time to read.

My son is an avid reader but has taken to listening to audiobooks. He is also an aspiring writer.

I do not care for Sci-fi too. I read about someone in my country with a large collection of books. She has so much that she has to rent a warehouse to keep the books. She has been trying to find buyers for all the books, and since the offer prices are very low, she decides to donate all the books to charity. The organization getting the books will sell the books to public, and use the money for funding.

@scheng1 I have never gotten the hand of reading sci-fi. It's a good idea to donate books like that.

Ditto. Love to read and do it anywhere, anytime, whenever. I have many books and they are all on my Kindle or in the cloud. I also have the Kindle app on my phone, so that makes reading even easier when I am stuck waiting somewhere or have a little extra time on my hands. One of the greatest inventions IMO -- an e-reader. More convenient and a whole lot easier to carry hundreds of books with you that you can whip out at a moment's notice and they don't take up a whole lotta room. Imagine -- a veritable library in your back pocket! Works for me!

@LaDeBoheme I have not tried an e-reader believe it or not. It looks like the time is coming for me to look into one.

@HazySue I still have so many real books and I was loathe to get rid of them because they are like 'close friends', so I joined Bookcrossing so I could 'release' them to other book lovers.

I don't consider myself a prolific reader, but I have been reading a lot more since I have been writing on Hubpages and other sites.

@pauliek it's funny how that happens. I have found that the more I write the more I read.

They do say that if you want to be a writer you should read a lot. We have bookshelves full of books and I'm trying to cut down on them a little. Some I like to keep, some I haven't read so I need to read them then decide if I want to keep them or not.

@JudyEv I agree as a writer you do need to read a lot. I love books of all kinds and love having them around. Some I like to read over and over and some I don't. The ones I don't are given to others in the hopes that they read them.

I've always been an avid reader. It's always been something I've loved to do. Lately, I don't get the chance to read as much as I may like. But I still do try to read as much as I can.

I try to never miss my bedtime reading, this is when I do the most reading. Just finished reading another book last night "Empire Of Deception" by Dean Jobb.

@marlina I have tried reading at bedtime but I get so into the book that I have a hard time putting it down and going to sleep.

I love to read but rarely find the time until we go on vacation. However I am not a book collector, I just don't have room for books, I use the public library.

@thequestioner I find so much enjoyment in reading that I manage to carve out time for it, even if it is only 15 minutes here and there.

No doubt reading is wonderful! I love reading and could pretty well survive if you lock me in a room full of books(not to be taken literally, would need some food too)

@ZainaManzoor give me a room full of books, a computer and a boatload of craft items and I could live there forever.
