I Ordered a Ronco Rotisserie

I always serve prime rib for Christmas. Last year my Ronco Rotisserie , which was maybe 15 years old, caught on fire and I had to finish the prime rib in the oven. I have been debating whether I wanted to get a new one or just use the oven. I decided I wanted a new one. Of course, they don't make the one I want currently. I had to go to Amazon and find who still had one available. I did find it for a reasonable price, brand new and it is supposed to arrive today. I have to say, this rotisserie makes the best chicken I have ever had. We made many, many of them in the other one. I will let you know how it works at a later date. Does anyone else have one of these rotisseries? What are your favorite things to cook in it?

I have watched the images, I have one of another brand but it's almost identical. I agree that this rotisserie makes the best chicken. I also make roast beef with it.

My prime rib comes out perfect every time and when you spend almost $100 for a piece of meat you want it to be perfect.

@BelleStarr I agree, this is why I use it for my roast beef, the meat is extremely expensive here in Switzerland.

I've never used a rotisserie at all, and I've only seen them in restaurants.

It really is quite simple and once the meat or chicken is on the spit you just leave it to cook, no work at all.

I have cooked chicken on the rotisserie in my toaster oven, and it was okay. Now I just do it in the Nuwave. But I am sure the Ronco one works well. I totally trust Ron Popeil.

The Andy Warhol Museum had a great exhibit about Ron Popeil and all his amazing inventions. My last one gave me many years of great service, I just hope this one is as good.

We have a rotisserie for our outdoor gas grill, but nothing for inside the house. I love the one for outside, we do so many different things on it.

This one works great, my only complaint is that it takes up counter space.

@Juliaacv I have convection on my stove but I don't have a separate one though I have thought about it. I have too many "things" already on my counter and I don't have a real pantry (I have one that is a part of my cabinets)

@BelleStarr We have a convection oven like that, its portable, and we store it in another room when its not in use. We use it quite often though because it is smaller and a better size when cooking for just the 2 of us. This one has a rotisserie as a piece you can buy to go in it, but we never bought it. Its a Hamilton beach brand, very good little oven. But we've had it for about 8 years, so they probably no longer make them like that anymore. We refer to it as our Easy Bake Oven!

It arrived to day and for $117 I think it is a bargain. I can't wait to use it again I have missed it.

I've never cooked with a rotisserie but I bet it does make some chicken to die for.

@BelleStarr That sounds really good. I like chicken and could eat it several times a week but we get tired of fixing it the same way all the time.

I've never had one, though it would be nice to have. Could you do a turkey on one or is it too big?

@just4him I bought a 12 pounder today to make on Friday or Saturday. We will eat my sons tomorrow but I want lots of leftovers.

You can do a turkey but not a 24 pound one. Probably 14 pounds would be the max or maybe 12. I can do a 9lb prime rib

@BelleStarr I used to buy 20+ turkeys when I was cooking for the whole family, but 12 is good for the two of us. So it's good to know I could do a turkey with it when and if I get around to buying one.
