.
I had a visitor today. A young woman whom I became friends with a few months ago. She's feeling very sad after the break up with her boyfriend..
She told me that she's okay.. She is hurting but she knows it will pass. She said that she's not depressed about it like she was depressed for no reason at all when she was 8 years old that she thought of suicide..
"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem".. I read this statement a while ago somewhere and it stayed in my mind, so I shared it with her..
Yes I too thought of ending it all. Once when I was a child around 10 years . Once when I was a teenager and once when I was a young mother living in hell trapped in an abusive marriage.
But what held me back each time was when I thought of the day after I died. I thought of the weeks, months and years after I died.
I thought of what would happen to my young children after I died. I decided to take them with me.. But then I thought of the days, the months, the years my children would miss out on after they died with me.. I couldn't imagine my sons not growing up and I couldn't imagine them growing up without me.. So for the last time, I held back..
I am glad I did.. or I would not have experienced the joy of being a grandma.. I would have missed out on having the love of a true gentleman in my life who is now my husband ..
Problems , no matter how difficult they may be, they are only temporary. Problems will pass. Suicide is permanent ...
I am glad my young friend came to see me today.. She was glad too

How we approach the problems really matter. If problem can't be solved, one has to learn to cop up with it, If we can't coop up with it we must endure the suffering that comes from the problem. If we can't endure the suffering, we have to forget about it.
If we learn to live each moment happily we will find the life becoming meaningful.

I think that children are more fragile than adults. They donĀ“t know how to cope with life so they have those thoughts.

@Lucky15 yes indeed, it sounds scary but unfortunately, people do it in spur of the moment..
