Non normal things I do on a holiday like today

I don't really celebrate today like most do. I stay home, do chores, make a few foods. I don't know that the tv will even get turned on today. I play some video games...all things I do on a normal day. Really, today is no different for us than a normal day. Now I did make lower carb cinnamon bread, so that's a tad different, but not because it was a holiday, because I had time and wanted bread! And now, off to move some more laundry around and check the ham in the crock pot (we eat this a couple times a month, again not holidayish). Oh, I might put up a few decorations. I guess that is different. I am not very motivated this year on them, so we shall see. How about you, is today really that different?

Today is Friday and the day to put my weekly rubbish out for collection and do my weekend grocery shopping. I also intend writing more than 500 words today! Definitely an ordinary day here.

It was different. We didn't do Thanksgiving at anyone's house as in the past, but a restaurant. It was very impersonal and though it was good to see everyone, it was the worst holiday get together. I don't know if anyone else shared my opinion on that.

well, that way no one had to clean up. I know that can be a stress on the host.

@just4him I always liked the summer gatherings at a park, can even be catered, no cleanup and fun

@Jessicalynnt I would take helping with cleanup to yesterday's impersonal family dinner.

I used coconut flour instead of wheat flour and substituted out the sugar for stevia. Ham cooked in a crock pot (ceramic slow heating dish)

@Jessicalynnt we did have a crock pot but i think my mother only used it once. i was curious about your ham recipe. the coconut tree and coconut have many uses here, but i never knew about coconut flour.

Today is another bright day here.. another TGIF kind of day. I am feeling better and hope to get all the laundry done today.. Check the garden and do some cleaning up.. so there is a whole day of activities,.. for me.

We do not celebrate thanksgiving, but festive days are somehow different for me. Though, there is no escape from doing the chores, but the type changes.

Thanksgiving is not a national holiday celebrated here in Spain so it was just a normal day here too. It seems odd to have such a big celebration so close to Christmas.
