Had to Un-Follow a Person Today

I am so sad that I had to un-follow a person today. This is the first time I ever had to do this. But this person left me no other choice. I was sure that everyone who had wanted to follow me kept tabs on what I had written and posted here. However, I guess this person decided to ignore a few of my discussion. How unfortunate for them.
I have posted a discussion on here about flooding the sites with one post after another. I know many people read this, agreed with me, and left a lot of comments behind. In my eyes it was what you could consider a semi-popular post.
Well anyhow here is my sad story. I have been rather busy lately trying to set up some new websites and blogs for people. I came on here late and wanted to catch up on my reading. The first place I checked was People. I wanted to see what the people I follow had written lately.
WOW Simple Amazing – this page was filled with 1 person who had flooded my People’s page with 20 Discussions. Yes my friends 20. I answered one but then was faced with way too many and it was making it difficult to find other people’s work. I had no other choice but to go to this person’s page and click on that nasty little button called Un-follow.
So guys and gals please let this be a warning. I am tired of being flooded with tons of your discussions one right after another. Any person whom I follow and do this to me again I regret that I will Un-Follow you. I am so sorry but you leave me no other choice.

I understand what you needed to do. And I agree. I normally write maybe one post a day, sometimes less. If I were to write more in one day it might be about two. I think writing post after post is way too much. Is it wrong, probably not, but it does flood the page and make it hard for others. Moderation I say.

Bad enough because of time zone our posts get buried and with so many posts by one person we stand no chance being visible

If the person you're referring to happens to be who I believe it is, I'm not sure that reading (or even responding to!) your post would have made any difference. I've seen many posts where a small portion of the discussion is replied to, but the main point is completely ignored.
I actually ended up unfollowing almost everyone I was following last week simply because I couldn't keep up with the page. I still need to go through and follow several more people again. Maybe this time around I'll be able to manage it better. I'd end up doing the same as you if someone I followed got that carried away. I just don't see the value in posting just for the sake of creating a post. I'd rather follow users who create a few really great topics once in a while than those who vent every single thought that crosses their minds here.

Personally I might post 1 maybe 2 in one day but I would never post 20. Some people I follow can or might post 3 or 4 which is fantastic because they are well spaced out. I don't find all of them at once and I get to see stuff from others.
There is maybe 3 or 4 people here that do this and I normally don't follow them at all. I followed this one because they didn't post a lot. Then all of a sudden ti was bombing and flooding the site. I had to give up and just walk away.

It would come as no surprise to me if the majority of that person's followers have done exactly the same. The whole idea of checking the discussions link under People is so that we can track what is being written, but that level of posting would simply bury the rest.

@poehere Yes, it totally destroys the filtering system. I suspect that they may have become disillusioned due to poor success of their post and tried to compensate with numbers. Of course we both know that the best approach is to try to interact more.

@Asylum Yes if you don't see your earning increasing like you want then get busy and start to respond and comment on other posts. This will get you so much further and increase your stuff so much faster than adding so many post to the system ques.

Yah exactly. I always go there to check on this section so I can comment on some of the stuff people write that I follow. I followed them at first because they didn't do this. Then all of a sudden it was almost a daily thing with them. So enough is enough and I need to not be bothered with this sort of flooding and hiding the rest of what people write on the site.

Love your image. After a time I think the people who overwhelm us give up and leave as they get little interaction and do not earn for what they are doing.

Thank you so much. My boyfriend and I were sitting on the beach at sunset with the dogs. I had my camera with us this night. We sat and played music and let the dogs swim in the lagoon. I took this then. During the longer days here on the islands we spend a lot of time on the beach watching the sunset.
I'm not sure if they will leave quickly or stick around. They are sot of new here and I have tried to get them to understand this one isn't a wise move. But anyhow it is best to not bother and hit the little stop follow button and move on. First time I have ever done this one.

Oh..recently I vowed not to start any discussions but have promoted myself to outlaw status. That allows me to hijack the discussions, and take them in any direction I want leaving pilot no choice whatsoever, and passengers petrified. Seriously, the first paragraph made me suspect whether you were talking about me. I haven't been interacting as much as I would like to.

@Vandana7 but some don't like it when you don't 'stick to the topic'. also, why is it that some of us, when we read someone talking about other mylotters' way of mylotting, our first thought is, uh-oh, was it me?

@hereandthere You know to me it is fine if we go off topic. As long as it adds to the conversation and we are both in sync with each other. But to jump in and change it from the beginning is not so cool. I would rather let it flow as the comment star to progress.

Wasn't me I can't post that many, too busy.
I would if I were you not put down your post about flooding because I thought it was very good as it did get lots of discussion. I made a religious post but put a big God in the title so it can be easily spotted. If I ever do decide to post heavy don't hesitate to unfollow me because I totally understand your concerns.

No do not worry please. I would never do this to you. You are not a person who could flood a site with your posts. Besides I do enjoy reading your when I can find the to read them all. I have been busy lately and had a lot going on so I have less time to come here and read so much. A lot of time when I do get a chance my notifications are flooded and I should answer people back first. I try to do a few then read and come back. So please don't worry I have never seen this from you. After I posted this one on flooding the site most of them all stopped. I was shocked this one guy didn't and I have over looked it twice but a third time is not possible.

It was not me either...I can either type 10 posts (god knows from where I will get those topics) or visit others posts and make friends. Honestly, more variety helps to keep my mood better. So I am definitely not going to post unless the US President Obama sends me a frantic message to do so.

@vandana7 I agree. It doesn't take that much to think of someone now and then. I found out these people aren't posting their original work. They are posing stuff copied and pasted off the Internet. That is why they can do this so fast.

NO he did not. That is what made me even anger on this one. I think they just do this and I am finding out a lot of them are copied and pasted off other parts of the Internet. So now I can see why it is so quick for them to post here on this site.

I can see what you're saying I wouldn't go for that either it just doesn't make any sense why others do that.

I already gave 2 chances and posted on here about excessive posting one after another you'd think they'd get a clue. Bit guess what they didn't and so now I can't follow a person like this. It is sad to say but 3 chances is 1 too many,

@vandana7 Notices don't annoy me at all. I just get annoyed when I want to read some good stuff from people I follow and I can't find it because one of them bombed me with tons of his posts. Then I am annoyed and stop following them. First time a person really annoyed me though and it's the first time I did this one.

No other choice and it was a hard decision to make. But I have tried to point this out ever so nicely and even left really nice helpful comments. but when they don't take advice and keep it up then the time had to come and I needed to do this.

How on earth does anyone flood the system with 20 posts unless they are a) plagiarizing someone else's work or b) writing three lines of drivel for each post. It really doesn't sound as though this person has much of a clue how things work here.

@vandana7 I found out tonight that a few people are copying and pasting stuff off the Internet to here. This is how they can do it. I read some comments about this and how they have said what these people have done. I was sort of shocked but I saw a few others who have been here a long time explain it too.

This one is nice. I hate to do this but time like this call for drastic measure. I too notice this. I really try hard to find stuff others write because it does interest me. I might not comment on all the discussions but I do comment on ones I like and read. But that is what this site is all about.

I have trouble committing time to 1 post a day here, especially this month, let alone 20. Rapid-fire posts are not a good way to make you popular here.

@poehere Well I don't have that problem lately, my posts barely get any comments these days because of my level of inactivity. I'm slowly growing out of the writing site era, simply because there's no profit in it. It's more a social thing anymore.

Yes I know this one. But I am finding out I made the right choice. It appears a few people are cheating and copying and pasting stuff to the site. The one I stop following was caught for this and I think all of those posts were deleted anyhow. So I don't feel bad anymore for my decision.

I just want to be nice when I tell others that this isn't the way to go. I guess when I say I'm sorry it isn't really an apology but me feeling sorry for people who just don't understand and get it. You try to help, you give advice, and then in the end all of it seems like wasted time. So the best solution is to pass these few people by and move on to more deserving friends.
