I did not reach my diet goal.

I had set myself a goal on putting off some weight. But I go up and down the same pound and no sooner I start feeling I´m getting there when the scale goes up again. I have walked and eaten less carbs. I have stopped eating my favorite foods with too much fat. I wanted to reach my goal before Lili´s birthday so that I could eat and drink with no guilt for one day. It will not be so. And I know that I will eat more than I should next Saturday, but I will not be happy with it. How I yearn those days when I ate a lot and did not gait an ounce! Do you have issues with food and weight, friends?

Are you on any meds that might make it hard for you to lose weight Marguicha? It is the case with me, but not all the blame on them.

I take so many meds that I don´t know which of them should be blamed for it. Still, I am aware that some of these meds keep me alive and kicking, so I should not say any thing against them. I gained weight when I stopped smoking and things worsened when I was on chemo as I di not do any exercise. I have some side effects from the chemotherapy, but I must be grateful that my cancer is on remission. Still, my life is quite sedentary now. I try as much as I can, but the ol´ bones will not move much

@TiarasOceanView Being active doesn´t help either. And one of the thing that keep me going is that my loved ones are near me. Just a few minutes ago, my phone rang and it was my brother inviting me to diner. Needless to say, it will not be diet

I cannot say that I have issues with my weight, but I know that I cannot eat as I did when I was young.

I think that with me the difference is made by the amount of exercise I do. I started to lead a very sedentary life since I was diagnosed with cancer. Chemo brought me dowm and some side effects like neuropathy in the limbs don´t make walking fun.

@marguicha I believe that this is surely the cause. When I do not feel well I know that I do not even want to walk.

@LadyDuck I should have more will to start. After I start walking, it is ok. And Leticia is always willing to walk with me. I get bored walking by myself.

Try snacking on apples either throughout the day or about a half an hour before a meal. Obviously they're super healthy for you but they also have a fiber in them called pectin that makes you naturally feel fuller faster. This fiber also helps slow the amount of sugar that is released into your bloodstream so over time they can help get rid of those sugary cravings. my favorite apples are pink lady apples because of their taste and larger size. The larger size of the apple takes me longer to eat and also makes me feel like i'm having a bigger snack. This won't make the weight melt away but it's a nice little trick if you wanted some extra help.
