Don't Think About It

Don't think about what can happen tomorrow. Don't think about what can happen in a month. Don't think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.
The front of this damn checkout line at Wal-Mart. That's where I want to be. I want to be done with all my Black Friday shopping, that's where I want to be. I want to be at the nearest bar knocking back a few cold ones. That's where I want to be!
How about you? Where do you want to be today?

@moffittjc Right now....I want to lay down in bed. It's 3:45am and I'm tired. yet not ready for bed either. Just wanting to catch up on MyLot more than anything. I am sure I could write a big list of where I want to be. But for now I will just say in bed.

Being in your bed is not a bad place to be! In fact, that's one of the best places I can think of to be!

I am going to the movies in a couple of hours. I want to see Spotlight.
As for being "in the moment", I think that is a good idea, but also, I have short term and long term goals. This way, I make more intelligent choices.

At the beginning of every year, I write out all my short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals for the year. There is nothing wrong with planning for the future, and I have found that by writing everything down, it helps me stay focused for the year.

I think it's ok to 'think' about tomorrow or next months but don't well on it - live in the moment.

That is true! We can't just live carefree in the moment, we do have to think about and plan for our future! But, like you said, we shouldn't dwell on it too much, or we'll miss all the beauty of the here and now!

@moffittjc Exactly. I love summer, but if I dwell on thinking about summer I'm missing life go by.

@moffittjc I am right were I want to be - in my recliner writing on MyLot. Whatever possessed you to go to a store on Black Friday?

I fell asleep watching football yesterday afternoon, and ended up taking a very long nap. As a result, I had insomnia last night, so I said what the heck, I'll get up and venture out into the world and check out all the Black Friday deals. I had not planned on buying anything in particular, but you know it goes when you get into the stores, you always find something you want!

Right now, I want to be at the end of my studying for my finals! Oy. My classes are all online however, so that's very very nice.. I always hated walking from class to class in winter. That alone creates less stress in my life, haha. I hope you finally got to the front of the line and sat down to a cold one! :)

Is it hard to concentrate on your online classes when it is so tempting to just spend all your time here on myLot? lol Good luck with your finals, hope you do well!

@moffittjc Yes it is incredibly difficult to stay strong and off MyLot to study and do my work online haha.. but I try to give myself "MyLot" breaks as rewards for finishing things! Works out, usually. And thank you, I think I'll be passing with A's in both classes, so fingers crossed on that :)

I stay clear away from shopping on Black Friday. I will see a movie this afternoon. That's my idea of a holiday break.

I wonder how many people are thinking the same thing? If there are a lot, then the movie theaters could be awfully crowded today! I remember one year when I was a teenager, on Christmas Day after we had opened all the presents, visited family and ate gluttonous meals, I was bored and asked a bunch of friends if they wanted to go see a movie. I figured we'd have the theater all to ourselves, but much to our surprise when we got to the theater every single movie was sold out! I guess everyone else had the same idea we had!

That sounds like the perfect place to be! Nothing is better than wearing your favorite PJ's and getting all snuggled up in a warm, cozy bed!

The truth is that yesterday is gone, in the past. We can't do anything about it now. What happened is history.
Tomorrow is not promised. You may not be here or someone you love may be gone. The world might end in any number of ways. It is not promised.
All you have is today, so make the best of it. Never miss an opportunity to tell someone you love them, call them on the phone, email or message them with a happy thought, do a random act of kindness for a stranger. Make today count.

if we think for past it make pain,if we think for future it look far so we think for present means today then we can do that thing and we go ahead then we can see life is so beautiful.
