Why are you so much more interesting on myLot than you were on Bubblews?

A few people have expressed that they have connected with users at myLot that they never connected with on Bubblews. I think we all sort of banded together when we got here, latching onto names we knew.
But some time has passed and I have got to say that I am really glad to have communicated more with some users. There are some users who didn't draw me in with their bubbles, but I truly enjoy reading their discussions on myLot.
A couple of you are fascinating and multi-faceted people. Why didn't I see that before? What makes you so much more interesting now than when you were on Bubblews?
Maybe you were all fascinating characters before, but I never noticed. I wonder if I became more discerning?

I think that Bubblews just wasn't set up for social interaction the way that MyLot is. Here, we often seem to learn more about people from the responses, comments and asides they make rather than from the discussions they post.
Although responses (called 'replies') certainly had a place in Bubblews, it never lent itself, somehow, to 'conversation' in the way that MyLot does. Perhaps it's partly because you had to type a minimum number of characters for a reply there (and there was an upper limit too, which became frustrating when you wanted to say something substantial) whereas here you can type as much or as little as you like. It simply would not have been possible to leave a totally hilarious '' there, but here it's quite acceptable (in context, of course).
Somehow, Bubblews was never a place where it was easy to have a discussion and it was much more difficult to have fun.

@Bluedoll I quite agree. The only thing which could generate earnings on Bubblews was posting an article (which then had to gather views, likes and comments for it to earn anything). MyLot pays users on discussions, responses and comments which gain interaction, so it's worth people's while responding and commenting as well as posting discussions.
Since one actually learns more about people from their responses and comments, which are more natural than the Greek masks they tend to put on as orators (when starting a discussion), it is clear that MyLot is a better social medium than B. was.

thinking in bubs was? . . . "This post really sucked but I thought I would be nice and give you a like and a comment even though I don't get money for it. I am being nice but if you don't start reading my posts I'll stop reading yours." - tell me that wasn't a factor?
Once a member figures out how to best interact on a site they form a habit. The habit in bubs was to comment once, never return but write another post instead. People say money isn't everything but since interaction is rewarded in myLot we see more of interaction on posts. More interaction, more you get to understand a personality.
Money rules! Now if people got rewarded for doing something like writing keywords then you would see a lot of those words or writing without spilling mistakes, same. Am I right in making this assumption?

@Tampa_girl7 yes I have seen that here too as if we seem more relaxed and easier to talk to.

Many Bubblews members, myself included, restricted their list of connections to a manageable size in order to maintain a realistic track of their material. Moving to another site constituted started anew, so it was a simple matter of looking for those who submitted discussions that we could interact with.
The level of interest that I generate has not changed one iota, I was a boring old fool at Bubblews and am still a boring old fool on Mylot.

You were well as established here as I was before we both migrated to Bubblews (and then came back here), so you probably know both platforms as well as I do. I feel that things have changed here - for the better - since its previous incarnation and that it has something to do with many people's experience of Bubblews.

I think its the conversations and discussions. there was very little back and forth on that other site. It was comment and run..
Having more fun here than ever on Bubs.

I think the fact that we really need to work to draw attention in makes the posts here much more interesting

@Rollo1 Disagreements, light or heavy, take place in real life so they will here also.

@Rollo1 I also think there is a lot more really getting to know people, where as before we had light friends, it feels here we've started building a bit of an online family. I find myself wondering how something ended, or if someone's son made it, or how that dinner went, or that dr appt, etc

I like being able to jump into a discussion better than the "other" place. This is a much better way of getting to know people rather than just concentrating on how many posts you can get up in a day.

@Rollo1 at the other place I felt like it was only proper to leave a comment but not engage anyone else who left comments

I don't think I've become any more interesting - I may have gone backwards. There's a level of passion and thought which goes into many myLot comments that just wasn't there at Bubbs. It can't help but open up new relationships, and new dimensions in the people we thought we already knew.

People seem a bit freer here. There was the need at Bubbs to keep everything polite and superficial. Rarely did anyone go back for a second response or reply. But that is partially their fault for being so late in introduced the comment threading. And the site was too slow when you tried to comment, Who had that kind of time to waste?

I probably don't, because I had a list of connections from the old myLot. But most of them are not here anymore. I am struggling some days to keep up here. Last two days, I haven't kept up. But I like jumping around from conversation to conversation.

Bubblews was different than myLot For one thing, there was a character count. The articles and subjects were more varied. However, the management was poor and it was unreliable. In the end, Bubblews cooked its own goose and closed.

for some reason people were all so much more aloof on bubblews and Ii h ve had responses from people who I knew on bubblews who never touched my posts at all. Here there is more warmth as if people are not afraid to talk to you and you feel more l ike responding too as you feel welcome here.
