No one should ever die alone!!!

Now that the holidays are very near, it is time to think about all the people that have no one in their lives. When I went to visit my very old aunt, many years ago, I realized how lucky she was to have so many relatives and friends to visit her. There were 3 other ladies in the same large room and they had no one visiting them. I asked the nurse if they had families and I was told no. No friends went to visit them either. I couldn't help think about how many people spend their last days in a room without any one to talk to or just smile with. My youngest grandson realized this as he kept my 93 year old dad company when I could not get to the house. Since my dad died, my grandson, now 15, started visiting the old homes and playing games with the people and just talked to them. As I am getting up in years I think of this a lot and I am grateful that I have 2 grandsons that are caring and always check with me by text or phone. I have lots of friends and we all look after each other as well as my son and daughter do. No one should die alone. Even if they cannot communicate, someone should look in on them, maybe a friend or family or just someone that has a good heart and wants to make an older person smile again.

Right, just to have someone to talk to occasionally.

I love to make elderly people smile. Before I moved to South Carolina, I lived in Georgia. I had a neighbor across the street from me, that I took care of. I helped her with her baths, dinner and clean her house for her. She past away at age 99. I miss her so very much. I learned so much from that old sweet lady.

You are one special person. At least you know you helped her in every way. Bless you. We need more people like you.

That's such a lovely thing to do, I would hate to think of someone alone with no Family or Friends.
