Olives...black or green?

This afternoon I had a huge salad from a local pizzeria and it was delicious. After all the food I ate the past two days I needed something light and not so full of calories and carbs.
This salad had everything in it from lettuce, peppers, red onion slices, shredded carrots and also black & green olives. I'm not fond of green olives so I picked them out and ate the black ones.
So, this makes me wonder. Do you have a preference? or do you like both or neither

I eat Black Olives in Salads or Mexican food. However, I never eat green olives.

I never got into green olives stuffed or otherwise. Wonder if it has something to do with growing up and we never had green olives in our house.

I love them both, but can no longer digest the green (unripe) ones. Thank goodness I can still enjoy the black ones. My favorites are the jumbo pitted, so yummy. I eat them every day and have super great cholesterol numbers. This may be part of the reason why.

@elizabethwallace I don't eat olives often because of the high sodium but it's interesting to know that they might be a contributing factor in your great cholesterol numbers.

@Marilynda1225 My blood pressure is low and so is my sodium count. I'm just lucky.

@Marilynda1225 And they're excellent on a Subway sandwich too. Especially the Meatball Sub.

Green ones are a little bitter, but yummy. Black ones are mellow, and yummy.

@ElizabethWallace As long as they're both yummy, that's fine by me.

I love the black ones on a salad. I don't care for the green ones.

I really like black ones; my wife likes both green and black. I sort of like the kalamata green olives.

I prefer black olives as well. I use green olives in a few recipes, but generally opt for black is possible.
