My discussion about responding to old comments got a number of comments about how people MyLot. I think most people want to keep up on their followers and those people who comment and like their discussion.
I look at my notifications first. Then I start dealing with them one at a time. While I am reading and commenting I also look for other interesting comments and I try to read a discussion by that person before going back to the notification list.
Somewhere in the middle I write a new post so that anyone who wants to respond to me has something new to see. After I finish the notifications, I go to old posts to see if all comments are responded to.
Finally I check Explore for new users and also discussion with no responses. Then I go to people and click discussion to see if any of my friends have new discussion. Lastly I look at whats hot. Then I start all over again.
How do you MyLot?

@BelleStarr If I could sit for a long time like I used to just a few years ago, I would spend a lot more time than I do.

I go through my notifications, and get back to everyone, then I go through my old posts and see if I answered everyone, then I go to new user, no responses, and interesting or those that have just started a discussion, when I can find time, I might start a discussion of my own, but I am finding it difficult at the moment with time.

I like to start a new discussion because as a reader I find it frustrating when someone is very interactive with me but I really can't be active with them because they are not writing.

@euphie That is the secret, trying to get the discussions going within the discussion.

That sounds like a pretty good plan to follow. I don't always follow the same routine. Sometimes I sit down specifically because I have something to get off my chest, so I sit down and post, THEN I work notifications. Other times I start with notifications. It just depends.

There really isn't a wrong way to do it, as long as it is working for you it is a good plan.

@BelleStarr That's the truth. What I need to do is be more consistent about my time here!

I am pretty scattered in how I Lot a lot. I try to comment back in any discussions I have up. Then I go to people who responded to my discussion, but then I get distracted and I go to discussion that are listed as "you might also like" then I do recent, or new user, or no responses. Sometimes people. I am just all over the place.

Well we are all delighted when you do show up so I think you may be an exception we can just pop in and out.

I pretty much follow the same little routine. I need to read a bit before I actually post something myself for a new discussion. One thing that I question, and I wonder if anyone else does, is when you follow someone, and you partake in their discussions, and they comment back to you, yet they do not follow you. Is that a hint to back off or just an oversight?

Honestly I don't even know who follows me. I care about who I follow and I let the chips fall where they may.

It is not easy to keep up and that is why maybe reading all the comments on this post may help you.

I do it the other way so that I can avoid looking at notifications.
I check my own discussion threads to find out who has responded to the discussion.
I will comment on some of them, and I will check out the discussion threads posted by them.
I will try to find interesting threads so that I add some comments on the discussion.

I can't really say that I have a set routine - I'm easily sidetracked by an interesting comment, though I do most of the same things as you. Another thing I do is to look at some of my friends' activity list - I often find things of interest there, and sometimes people who are new to me.

It takes me all day to get through my notification list, but I think that's the fault of this old laptop. I visit each person's profile once because it does take so long to get through the list. If by chance I get through it within a reasonable amount of time, I hit the suggestions, and then the explore list. I've had trouble with the people list showing up, so generally don't go there. I will post a couple new posts during the day.

first i go to notification there see who comment or response get so reply them then go to my follower list and see who put new post and give responds, then see who are daily online in my friends list and interact with me so do comments and response there.then check current discussion and then new discussion.
