A Day for Only Positive Discussions

I have noticed some people post Negative after Negative Discussions so I think it would be a good idea to have a Day set aside each week or each month for nothing but Positive Discussions.
We all have something to be Positive about even if it is just waking up in the morning to having a friend stop by with some cookies or someone's dog has puppies.
Let's go for it, what do you think about this and what do you think is once a week to much or should we shoot for once a month or do you think this is not possible.

I think we should all be able to write about what's happening in our life. If someone only wants to read positive discussions they can, it is up to us what we read here. =)

@LovingMyBabies...I agree. Negative or positive, it is life. My life in the winter, and other times, is pretty negative. I am trying to be more positive however. But if I have a vent I shall do so.

@celticeagle I don't think anyone wants to be limited on what they can write here. It is up to us what we write and that is one of my favorite things about this site!

98% of my discussions are positive because that is how I feel

@troyburns I think too many people conflate a negative opinion with negativity. People's negative opinions can be absolutely hilarious and uplifting if expressed well. Even an out and out rant can really cheer me up if it's well thought out and well executed. And of course even a badly worded rant can be unintentionally funny.
On the flip side I can often find forced positivity extremely off-putting.

@GreatMartin - Only 98%? Your posts always seem to be upbeat. Even the ones about movies you didn't like are an entertaining read.

A big difference between my posts from MyLot Earlier version and this newer one is that on the second edition, I am not going to post any rants or negative discussions (that come from my life or happen around me). Reason is that I have grown more during the two years I was away from MyLot and realized that these gloomy things spread gloom around. Something that I do not want to do at least now. I come here for relaxing and having some more fun with friends, so unless there is nothing that important (in terms of - what I think my friends should know), I will not post any gloomy or sad posts. There is always enough of issues at everyone's end, and in my view there is not much good to add to it.
That said, I do not mind being on gloomy posts and responding to them in my own ways and capabilities.

Maybe that is something you could write about is what some people write on here and how you like it if you do, even if you only sit at home and feel you have nothing to write about then write more on each of your dogs, I always find pet discussions very interesting. Tell about what they like and how they act in certain situations.

That is a very cute photo Marcy! Your friends dog had puppies?
The positive for me today is that I dont have to get out in the cold.
Also I bought a very cheap kitchen scale so I can lose my 600 lbs.

I must say I was surprised to see some very morbid discussions here this weekend, but, I guess people need to vent, I know I sometimes do. I do though think it would be great if once a week, for those that have time, everyone did a discussion about something positive.

I have noticed that too, in real life I ban negative people because they bring me down, I'm considering doing the same thing here.

I think mylot is a good place for us to express ourselves and also might get advice or support from other mylotters. I like your idea of having a day for positive discussions. Sometimes we might just need some practices to cheer up ourselves, change the way we think, and the situation might become brighter as we used to think.
To me, a day in a week sounds good. Let's not choose Monday, as many people might have Monday's blues, though I am not working now. I always liked Fridays when I was working.

It is a very good idea that one day in a week/month should be ear-marked for posting only positive discussions. It is always good to spread positivity so that we could smile and could feel de-stressed. The picture you have uploaded is fantastic.

Well of course if we are able to give someone a positive suggestion about something why not, wonder why her post are no longer visible here on this page.

@Marcyaz - Yes, it appears a good idea but our friend Bluedoll had earlier stated that some of the discussions appear negative on the surface, however, the user seeks some kind of advice from other mylotters in his/her posts, therefore, those kinds of discussions could also be considered for answering.
PS - I saw Bluedoll's (earlier) comments in my email notification, however, now I find that her comments are no longer visible on the post here on this page.

Asking for support could lead to posts sounding as though they are negativge. To my mind we should not put any restrictions here. :Let them pour out to their heart's content as long as they follow rules.

I will sometimes go into a post that sounds interesting by the name but then I decide it is not something I care to respond to.

@Marcyaz That is exactly what I wanted to say too. We have choices here to pick what we want to respond to.

eh... I don't have such thing as negative-positive discussion. I only know which I can join into or just lurk, you know as long as I can contribute to discussion, so be it. I don't disagree though, more people, more fun. :D anyway cute hat! is your baby is a girl or boy?

@Marcyaz ohhh, so cuuute. you decide to take care all of them?
I don't have positive negative discussion concern, but I do have preference. something that not so political, overly philosophical, nor derogatory, suits me perfectly. :D

It's a lovely idea, but a lot of us really enjoy venting now and then. I don't like whinges about things which can be solved with a bit of thought and effort though.

@Marcyaz - Oh, I agree with you completely that a day of positive discussions would be nice. I'd probably not be interested in posts about puppies and cookies, but I'd love to read more posts about acts of kindness and courage.

if we want to write positive discussion then we have to write about our own life or on motivation because both are very positive. if we write on upcoming technology then also look positive .

we have problems in our life, no individual is free from worries in this mundane world. but any rate we should remain positive at all times. but whenever you feel low and negative where else you can go except your family and friends to vent out. However I also agree on this with you, that we all should have a day in a week for only positive discussions. No negative discussions or comments should allowed on that day.

I am grateful for my health, food and shelter. And for YouTube cat/laser videos. And that my car runs. And the decent retail prices I'm finding this time of year. And my computer. And space heaters. And being able to earn money from writing. This list could become endless, so I shall stop.
