Nowadays??? And what about what has been happening since independence?? The communal riots, curfews, politicians using religion and casteism to divide votes?? Just because media is saying now it is intolerance doesn't mean it is intolerance now!! Till the time idiots will live, intolerance will remain!! Illiteracy is the biggest reason for this!!

@DarreNoelBenger Religion and sometimes even the political party hardly matters when you cast your vote.I have voted for a Christian candidate n my constituency knowing that he is the least corrupt and also is genuinely interested in doing good work in our constituency. I will continue to do so in the future too...

@DarreNoelBenger I am an Indian!! I give vote to the one whom I think deserves it!! In local MCD elections or for MLA's election I have voted for a person from Hindu as well as Islam!! For me voting does not depend on Caste or religion, !! I am not from the great state of Bihar, that even though everyday hundreds of them migrate to big cities in search for jobs and a good life, they still vote for the surname 'Yadav'...

Yes Nitin Sharma you are correct . The biggest hurdle between India and world dominance are the politicians . But you must accept the fact that we are the fools who elect them . Would you willingly give vote to a Muslim or a Christian candidate , or would you prefer a Hindu one?

First of all has there ever been a time when we did not have some kind of intolerance ? It was always there and more so during the eighties and nineties but the media was not as active to highlight them. Now we have a media that goes overboard with every little thing and a government that is different and the family run grand old communal party wants to show that intolerance has increased...Statistics prove otherwise because the maximum number of riots happened under them many a times sanctioned by them like the Anti Sikh riots ! The so called secular parties are the most communal in our country /

@kiran8 Exactly. The whole dynasty, leave alone the lady, has been disastrous for the country. All they want is power.Have you watched the video of Manishankar Ayyer talking in Pakistan? They want power no matter at what cost. This is the culture the lady has promoted in the party.Country is nowhere in their thoughts.

@kiran8,The Congress can't live without power. The whole issue of the so called increase in intolerance is fake and fabricated. All the Congress and the leftists want is malign the image of Modi even at the cost of maligning the image of the country.Modi's failure is their success.

What would Mr Ghandi have to say about all this? And his family? Surely there must be a peaceful solution? And do you think Prime Minister Modi will remain? He's a really great guy... internationally, at least.

@else34 So he will keep his job? He's very popular whenever he speaks down here. Thousands of people travel thousands of miles in one day just to see & hear him speak. And it is always worth the trip just to experience him speak!

Yup but in India , the Hindus are in majority and a part of them wants India to be a Hindu state. They want all other religions out of here.

@DarreNoelBenger No, man!! It's not like this, Extremists are in every religion and Hinduism in our nation has the same thing too!! Sikhs have extremists who want to fight for making Punjab an only-Sikh state!! And the problem here is that extremists are a bit hard headed!! No matter, which religion they belong to!! I have lived in Kochi, and the things I have to share about the Christians there, will defintely not please you either!! It is just that whichever region becomes a majority of a certain sect, it becomes hostile for others because of the extremists of that dominant sect!!

@Rationalwriter Well that's right every religion has their extremists . I accept Christians , Sikhs and every other religion has extremists . But to be frank , I never hear much about a Christian/Sikh/Jaini/Buddhist mob burning another's houses , beating up couples on Valentine's day , do you?

@DarreNoelBenger,Frankly speaking, the whole issue is fake. The so called secularist parties are only intolerant about PM Narendra Modi. They don't want to see Modi as the Prime Minister.I am an ordinary citizen who visits different states every month.I don't see any intolerance anywhere.I dare say the politicians who are raising the issue are intolerant themselves. We are living peacefully.

India is a democratic country. So there must be friendlier atmosphere and mutual respect for all religions. When one religion try to impose their customs upon others ,then the trouble occurs.
