Are you saving your myLot posts?

The recent demise of Bubblews should be a reminder to us all to save our posts here on myLot. Bubblews shut down without warning and without giving users a chance to retrieve posts they wanted to keep.
Like probably most who write here, I type directly into the editor rather than first composing the post in a Word or other type document. So, if I don't go to the extra step of saving the post, it only exists online. And as the shutdown of Bubblews demonstrated, that puts me at the mercy of the hosting site.
I had over 700 posts on Bubblews. Fearing the site would do exactly what it did, I wrote an app that downloaded and saved them all. Now I make sure my myLot posts are saved immediately after posting them. I think that's a precaution we all should take.

You're very welcome, @jstory07. I'm pretty compulsive about saving everything, even though I know some of it I can't reuse. After all, after I win my Pulitzer, the world will want to see every word I ever wrote.

@RonElFran Okay that made me smile. I personally don't think I'm ever going to go anywhere with my writing though so I don't care about saving it.

@RonElFran I haven't written there since the middle of 2014 but still have a soft spot for the site. I seem to be getting around $7 a month from them from 600+ articles. It isn't a chatty site like this one but probably more suited to 'serious' subjects.

@JudyEv, from my experience of Yahoo Contributor Network and HubPages, it's almost certain some of your work has be stolen. Tracking down those copies is a never-ending task. BTW, do you still write for InfoBarrel? I've been trying to decide if they are worth a try, but have pretty negative impressions so far.

My posts in myLot are very short posts that I don't think need to be saved. But the discussions that I had started are perhaps worth saving. MyLot and Bubblews are not to be compared. At least when myLot decided to stop its payment program, members were given ample warning and those who were qualified were paid. How is that even remotely the same as Bubblews?

@srisahara, I suppose it's different for different people. I think maybe half of what I posted on Bubblews is reusable, and I expect it may be the same here.

I have not made a commitment mentally to the site yet. If I start writing here it will be a slow process

I am not in the habit of saving what I write on sites such as this. I prefer to create new posts.

Most of my posts are the kind I can easily rewrite but since they are in the moment I probably don't need to save them. Articles I save.

Nope...once it's written it's gone, and I don't really care what I've written before, especially the short posts that appear to be favoured here,...If it were any kind of substantial epic, then I might!

I was one of the lucky ones - I saved all my Bubblews posts, as well as all my Helium ones. I'm doing the same here. Never know when they may be useful again.

A lot of my posts are just silly little things, so if I did lose them it wouldn't be much of a loss. But any posts I put a lot of effort in I save.
