Jeanne Louise Calment was a French supercentenarian. She lived in France and lived to be 122 years plus 164 days. She outlived her daughter and a grandson by several decades. She smoked until she was 100, ate chocolate a lot and drank port. She said that her secret to longevity was using olive oil a lot in what she ate. She met Vincent van Gogh and survived two world wars. What an interesting lady!
Do you have some long living relatives? My great grandmother lived to be 96, my grandmother lived to 89. I hope that I am as lucky.

@Hatley ...I totalyl agree. I am trying to get my daughter to quit. She has been smoking for 30+ years. She has a cough and chokes and carries on in her sleep something awful. It really concerns me.

My grandfather on my mom's side lived to be 93, her mom lived to be 100. On dad's side his dad was 79, and his mom was 84, I believe.

I think sometimes their bodies give out before they do.

I suppose China is a stressful country and as such has discounted our longevity.

I love old folk. So many stories to tell among other things.
