Google chrome pages not responding

I don't know why google chrome is acting this way, but it happens everyday. I keep getting the wait or kill box, and I click wait, and I wait and I wait. It is so frustrating.I don't know what to do to get it to stop being unresponsive.
I have untinstalled it and reinstalled it, thinking that would help, and it didn't. I like the browser better than the other ones, as it seeems to be faster, but with all the problems I am having, it just isn't worth the bother anymore.
I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, and if you aren't, you are very lucky. I have even watched a youtube video on what to do to make it responsive, and I don't have the same options on mine, that was in the video, so that is out.
I don't know if resetting it to the original settings would help, but I am tempted to try that see if it will work. If anyone has any suggestions, then let me know, as I am getting frustrated, as i can't get anywhere when it stops responding all the time.

It seems to work better on some sites than it does others, but I am still having problems none the less. I will definitely go back to the default settings and see how well it works then, as this is just getting so frustrating, that is for sure.

I don't think I need to reformat. The browser is just not working like it should. I have put the settings back to default, thinking that would help, and it has to a certain extent, but it still does happen, now and then. So confusing for sure what is going on with it.

It is possible that one or more of the extensions and add-ons you have installed is at fault. Try disabling ALL extensions and add-ons to see if that makes any difference. If it does, then you can enable them again one by one, allowing a good session of testing in between.

There was one addon that was a problem and the Avast antivirus got rid of it, but it seems to keep coming back. I don't understand it either. I think i will eventually just go and reset it and go back to the defaults. I don't like addons all that much, and if I can get by not using them, I certainly would. Thank you for your suggestion though, as it is very much appreciated.

There's this called DNR error or something that appears randomly and that stops from surfing certain sites like this one. must have been the hacker version that I installed a few days ago. but it had error long before that

I use chrome most of the time, but when it starts acting up, then I just switch browsers. I am using Opera right now, which I really like too, and I will see how ti goes with it. I have been having problems with Firefox as well, but not as the same magnitude I have with chrome.

@simone10 I don't know why chrome is doing what it is, but I just decided to change browsers for awhile and not use it. I am using Internet Explorer right now, and for the most part, it runs much smoother than chrome. I do prefer chrome, but not when the problems start. I also am having problems some with Firefox too. I just hope that whatever the problems are, they will get fixed, unless it is with my laptop, and that could be too, as it is a few years old, but still works, so that is why I don't get another one/ I can't afford to anyway, not at this point, so I will just have to put up with it. I do have an ipad and my iPhone I can use to, and I have done that as well.

I have, and it still does it. It really makes no sense either. I can use my iPad, and I don't have the problems I do on the computer, so I will more than likely use it more than the computer.
