Plastic Surgery reversal on the NHS

United Kingdom

Sam Barton is a 23 year old who spend £50,000 on plastic surgery so that he could look more like Joey Essex from the only way is Essex. Sam has declared himself bankrupt after racking up £30,000 of debt to fund his plastic surgery. He has now decided he doesn't want to look like Joey Essex anymore and wants to have the surgery revered......on the NHS!!! There are so many things that anger me about this story I don't really know where to start: Firstly what sort of society do we live in where young boys are having surgery to look like "celebrities" What sort of Surgeon would do this surgery on such a young person who clearly has huge self esteem issues and shouldn't be cleared for plastic surgery. What sort of financial institution lends someone this sort of money ? What a cheeky sod for expecting the NHS to fund the reversal, he made his choices he needs to get him self back on his feet save up and get it done himself, or maybe set up a crowdfunding page so people can help if they want but getting it on the NHS would infuriate me when there are certain cancer treatments you can't get in certain post codes on the NHS because they are too expensive. What do you think of this, should he have it done on the NHS or be made to live with his choices and fund it himself ? It is such a sad reflection of the world we live in.

its really bad thing because if your face is right then why you need to change for look like celebrity and spend huge amount just for not important work.if they work who really need plastic surgery then it fine and real celebrity.doctor have also don't take this kind of case otherwise they have to jailed.

I agree with you the surgeon should definitely get into more trouble when they are irrespomsible. I think they take advantage of people being insecure and that is so wrong x

@shellyjaneo surgeon surely do for money but if someone face is right and you just change to make different is not good because some times it not work then face damage and they are in trouble then all point to surgeon.

I have seen many young girls asking for plastic surgeon to look more like their idols. I believe that surgeon plastic doctors should have a more strict code and rules.

I think they should as well and there should be penalties put in place for conducting irresponsible surgeries x
