12 round Fruits for New Year's Eve

I'm wondering if you guys especially those members from other countries, If you're completing the 12 round fruits for New Year's Eve too just like most of people here from the Philippines do. Well we're just following the tradition here and we're doing it every year so yea.

We don't have that tradtion. Why 12 fruits and why round? Does it have to be a specific type or will any round fruit work?
