My, My, How Spoiled Was I?

Spotty internet is very annoying. What is worse is having an unsolvable problem. When you live in an old old town, you hope internet companies would rebuild failing infrastructure. That doesn't always happen though. Until now, I didn't realize how spoiled I had become. On the bright side it means the kids and I learn patience, and to live without consistent internet access. Of course, if this is my biggest annoyance, I am pretty lucky!

You have (and we all have) become used to live with internet and we all have become so dependent on internet that if the connectivity gets poor, we go mad within no time. Earlier, when there was no internet, we were not so impatient. I feel that it is the flip side of internet that we have become addicted to it and cannot think of living without it.

@BethieAnnie Now Internet has become an integral part of our life and is a socially acceptable norm. Yeah, you are right modem would also get fed up in the past because we used to tap it, slap it, used to pull its ears (read wires) when connectivity used to go extremely poor.

Yeah, we have all developed an addiction, haven't we? Yet, it is the most socially accepted one on the planet! I remember being a teenager who patiently waited for internet connection, as my modem bursted in to a long series of beeps and fuzz. She would probably think it is madness!

I know that feeling. The internet gives us an opportunity to connect, even if our current situation allows for little. It's as if humanity is searching for connection. It is not surprising, considering current events.

Exactly. I do hope it won't be like this forever! However, to protect my sanity, it is beat to appreciate every silver lining!

You are right, we suppose that the everything should be kept updated even in old towns, but there are some advantages living in old towns that those living in big cities will never experience.

You are absolutely right. Historical richness gives old towns a certain advantage! Not to mention the relationships between people!
