Dr.s and Prescriptions

The cost of prescription drugs is getting rediculous. When I first started using eye drops to counteract the effects of glaucoma 5 years ago, one of the prescriptions cost the unholy amount of $195 for a 3 month supply for both eyes. The last time I filled it, it cost $322. I had an appointment with my eye doctor Wednesday and mentioned I didn't have any more refills left on my prescription. He asked what I was paying for it and I told him. He was astounded! There is now a generic for it which will only cost me $10 for a bottle of eye drops half the size of my original prescription. (I'm only using it in one eye now) I know pharmaceutical companies have to recover R&D cost, but the difference in generic and original is positively rediculous.

Wow, I think you are lucky to have such a good doctor to give you generic medicine. Perhaps in the future, you can do research online about generic medication, and you can ask the doctor if you can use generic medicine instead of those expensive ones.
