Will myLot be quieter than normal the next month?

United States
December 4, 2015 8:53am CST
From what I have seen since the Thanksgiving holiday, things have quieted down here at myLot. Holiday time, no matter what holiday, takes people in other directions and away from myLot. That's not a criticism but a fact. Since more people on this site will celebrate Christmas than those who celebrated Thanksgiving, one can only assume that myLot will not be very active until next year. What are your thoughts on this?

If I remember well even the site B was pretty quite during the month of December. I imagine here will be the same.

yes you are right because most of people here doing preparation of biggest festival of the years and busy in shopping and house decoration, some are busy for what event to do at last day.some are doing preparation of food and thinking what they do in festival. that's effect show here also because of less traffic.

I think you're probably right. Christmas can be a busy time for people. So perhaps some of us may not have as much time to dedicate time to my lot.

Since we don't have family, it is just us, I will probably be on the same amount of time.

I have definitely noticed things are so quiet around here. I am guessing the same as you that it will take until the New Year for things to pick up here.

I"m sure a great many will be popping in and out like I am. Today I have to figure out what my dinner meal will be since everyone comes to my house to celebrate Christmas. I'm all wrapped up in holiday preparations and school events for my grandchildren

I am inclined to agree and suspect that the site will become quieter as we approach Christmas and members are more preoccupied with festive preparations.

It is really hard to say, but I would imagine that from now on until New Years, it will be slow. There really isn't anything we can do about that, as like you said, everyone is busiy, some travel and others have to get their homes ready and such. I go to my son's for Christmas, and there will only be 6 of us, but it is more intimate that way. I might try to come in hee for a bit that day, but if I don't, you know I will be spending the day with my family.

@AbbyGreenhill I will try to come in on Christmas some, but then, I need to spend it with my family too, which is more important anyway. I am certainly not going to reach the minimum this month, so I don't have to worry, as i will get it next month to be paid in February.

Oh no I wasn't expecting to think so shortly after getting up! I would reckon that you are right. I think it's already starting to get quieter as people are spending time decorating, getting gifts bought, wrapped, and in some cases, shipped out.

@AbbyGreenhill I don't start to think until atleast a half hour after I get up. In some cases I don't start to think until 8 hours after I start work!

If I wasn't making a large move this month I would be very active since I don't participate in most of the holiday festivities, no putting up decorations, singing carols, sending cars, etc. In actuality I don't celebrate the holiday, other than getting together with family and wishing them goodwill since they do celebrate and I do not want to offend. After settling into my new residence I hope to get busier daily on myLot.

From what I have seen on another writing platform, the holidays generally mean things slow down. Lots of people spending time with family and friends, which is what I think is more important. In the new year, you will likely see things return to normal.

The worst period is from Christmas to New Year. You can hardly find a soul around. Even though most of us Asians do not celebrate Christmas, that is still a period of rest of many of us. We like to go on holiday or just to take our vacation leave to relax.

The lead up to Christmas is generally crazy for people. Rushing here rushing there shopping here shopping there. Meeting friends etc etc. I don't know why we put up with it all sometimes.

Yes i think it can be quite than usual, but still there are people from other parts of the world of different races/religion etc They will post/engage in discussions but it is natural during a particular festival/ceremony/celebrations of particular community, they tend to take breaks from their respective works whether online/offline and spend time with their loved ones.
