Stayed Awake For 76 Hours......

Perth, Australia
December 4, 2015 9:16pm CST
This was a few years ago now but I somehow managed to stay awake for 76 hours. My life wasn't exactly going well back then so I am guessing that played a major role in me not falling asleep. It's not like I wanted to stay up. Just couldn't sleep. I often have trouble sleeping. My mind starts thinking of things at the most inconvenient time! Like now, I haven't slept in two days. But I do know that when I eventually fall asleep, I will be asleep for a very long time. Most I slept was 17 hours. Mum and dad came in to check to see if I was still alive haha although they were the reason for keeping me awake for the stupid things that was going on back then. Do you have a good sleeping pattern or is it all over the place? What can you suggest to help a person relax the mind so they can sleep like a normal person instead of like a vampire?

I usually get about 6-7 hours of sleep per night, so I guess I don't have crazy sleep patterns. I don't have any problems falling asleep at night, but I usually have trouble falling BACK asleep if I get woken up for any reason. That's usually what messes up my sleep patterns.

@VivaLaDani13 How did you sleep last night? It's weird that it is already Sunday morning for you, but it is still Saturday night for me! I haven't gone to bed yet, and you're already up for a new day!

@birjudanak Yeah a lot of people deal with this sort of thing. I haven't been awake for that long ever since that time but yeah back then I was in a very bad relationship with someone to the point he literally scared me to sleep. Nowadays I don't have him around but still have trouble sleeping.

I do not take a nap but keep doing some work and keep myself busy throughout the day so that at night when i go to bed, i fall asleep soon and have a good sleep the whole night and wake up early in the morning and feel fresh

@VivaLaDani13 You take my advice! It's very important. Indians most of the time you will see that are ignorant towards mental health so I hope you don't take their comments personally. They just don't have the correct knowledge about it. They never were told about them.

I have bad sleep because of health reasons. 76 hours without sleeping: you must have heard voices!

I would asked you to get your name listed in the Guinness book of world records but there has been others who had been awake for double if not triple the number of hours than you. I had read this natural remedy for sleep in place of sleeping pills using tea two days ago. I had been looking for it but I can't seem to find it. I will keep looking and will share with you when I do find it.

Were they actually after getting a world record? Or just had trouble sleeping and got a title while doing it? That would be great thank you. If not, it's all good. :)

I very seldom have a problem sleeping in fact a lot of times I fall asleep in my chair in the frontroom. I know many years ago I stayed up for a long time but no real reason for doing so just young and dumb. lol

Not as bad as that. At most is a night of insomnia, but i will still sleep for an hour or two. I think sleep is a great healer, and after a good night sleep, we will feel better and start to think clearly.

I am not going to like this, as it was a bad thing for you. You should have done something more than just managing. Me too have some sleep issues some times but I don't let it take over me and for that I do some meditation and make myself believe that I am in control of myself.

Hey dear, you have to sleep for atleast 6-8 hours. I suggest you to start meditation from today onwards it will really help you lot. start with less time and then slowly increase it. and also remember one thing that meditation is not something to seat in some position and do relaxation its all about to divert our mind. i mean to calm our mind.So start from today and see the difference..... :)

@VivaLaDani13 Yoga and meditation. Have you actually tried it before? I haven't done any peculiar asanas but simple ones.
