This is really shocking news! Apparently, 66,000 women are murdered each year and by family members. Can you imagine that? The story is found here: "Where women are killed by their own families" My God, this world is crazy!
Guatemala has one of the highest rate's of violence in the world, so why is it such a dangerous place to be female?

I don't think this is anything new. The vast majority of reported victims of domestic violence are women. The majority of the victims of serial killers are women. In 2015 we live in a world striving for more equality amongst the sexes, races etc etc. Bottom line is males, in general, are stronger and more violent than women....this will not change. That being said males under report domestic violence as they are victims too. There are so many reasons for male violence it is virtually impossible to suggest a solution. Things like the rage gene in males could be looked at. Persistent violent males could be imprisoned for longer. They could have hormone therapy. If anything I'd say the possible solution would be a combination of the above.

That's about 180 women a day. Who would have thought?

Until that happens, I guess there is very little hope that things will change for the better.

Women have always been mistreated and they will continue to be until the end. God actually foretold that man would dominate woman and so it has been. Jesus treated women as mothers and sisters which was very unusual for a man. When God's kingdom comes then women will truly be equal in every way. Until then we will continue to see shocking headlines of men mistreating women.
