Do You Live In Canada?

I have been to Canada a few times, but just along the border. I used to live in Caribou, Maine and we would go across the border sometimes. I understand that about 90% of Canadians live near its southernmost border with the United States.
Is that correct? This border is considered to be the world's longest undefended border and stretches for 5,600 miles. The other thing I found out recently is that several U. S. states have areas farther north than some areas in Canada. I knew that Maine definitely went quite a ways up into those areas.
My sis-in-law who lives in Florida also told me that a lot of Canadians come to Florida in the winter. She said they are called "snow birds." That would be the best life, I think. Stay north for the hot part of summer and come south for the cold part of winter. That's the best of both worlds.
What do you think?

i grew up in New York and lived in the midwest for years before moving to Canada. I live a few miles from the border at Niagara Falls. The border is tight and defended by border patrol since 9/11. Before that anyone could cross, now you need a passport. When we go south we are called snow birds and that name has stuck. Yes most of the population is in the south, The northern areas are pretty wild and very cold. Alaska is the other state that is up at the top of Canada. Russia is the largest country and Canada is number 2.

I didn't realize that the border was defended now, but I can certainly understand why. I have been to both the Canadian and the U.S. side of Niagara Falls. I did know that Canada was the 2nd largest country next to Russia. Thank you so much for giving me these facts. I appreciate the update. I do have an active passport that I keep up to date. However, I have no plans at the moment to travel outside the U. S.

India is a fascinating country. Tell us about your area. I would enjoy learning more about India. I know that a lot of different languages are spoken there. There is a wonderful web site that you might enjoy where you can watch FREE videos in your language on many other languages. You can also read very interesting articles in many languages. And you can request FREE literature in many languages. What languages do you speak?

Yes, the winter is very hard for the elderly but traveling isn't easy either.
