Would you use Facebook if it had no chat?

I've always thought that Facebook is not really what I expect from a social network. I hate the fact that anyone can see your activity in real time. I also dislike the news section a little bit since it shows a lot of posts I'm not interested in.
But a feature that I strongly like is the chat. I don't know why but I find it more comfortable to chat within Facebook than in another plattform such as, for instance, Skype. It's probably because I get the delusion of multi-tasking.
What Facebook features do you like? I am pretty sure I would leave Facebook if wouldn't have a chat. Would you do the same?

Group chat is definitely great! I use it for team work at school. I am curious, what's the name of your band?

Yeah, some friend's activities are worth seeing, some are not. Thanks for your answer.

That's why I like Facebook because it's all-in-one. I honestly don't mind the news because that is how I get to be aware of what's happening around the world. I am not one to actively seek news websites so I like that the most popular information are being spoonfed to me if you get what I mean. Facebook is really very convenient but of course can pose dangers as well. That's what the settings are for. But with all the hackers around, nothing is really 100% safe.

That's totally true: nothing is 100% safe. But as far as I know, it is not possible to prevent your activity from being showed to your friends.

@ricextreme Some posts do leak into the public domain but that's mostly if your settings haven't been adjusted somewhere. I am quite cautious now with my FB because I find some of the people in admin adding me up on facebook. I make sure I tick these certain types of people as either "Acquaintance," or restricted.. It's annoying having to filter everything but better safe than sorry, they say

@Theresaaiza I think I'm going to have to check my settings, because I've been seeing lots of post I'm not interested in lately. Marking those people whose post are irrelevant to me as 'acquaintances' is a good idea.

I would definitely leave facebook, because the only thing I use at Facebook is it's private chat.

Thats the exact way I think. The chat is like the core of all my Facebook activity. Thanks for your opinion.

I would say I chat once in a while but only look at the messages and images people put on there but that's about it.

So how do you chat? Or don't you even chat? I see more and more people using only mobile apps for chat nowadays. Are you one of them?

I don't use the chat on Facebook. I use it just to keep I. Touch with family and friends. So yes, I will always use it.
