I truly love Christmas, To any that find that statement wrong and politically incorrect. I'm happy for you. Read no further. I do not believe in a season of Love being made commercial, but kept in context and intent. Should that make sense then You are my kind of people. In keeping with the above statement, I build all gifts to my Loved ones with my hands. This habit.hobby, occupation has kept me busy for the past few weeks and will continue to do so until at least December 24th. Procrastination is my greatest sin in this endeavor as I tend to put it off until I only have a few months to get everything finished in time. Then, I find myself scrambling on a very tight schedule during the last month. I am nearly finished with the third to last gift which is for my 5 year old Grandson. I pray he is pleased with it as it required nearly the past full week to get this far. I could perhaps shorten the time involved in the builds but have a fixation on the longevity of every piece I fabricate. My greatest weakness and one I ask you, my friends to help me with is in the color and textures of the finishes. Given a photo of the piece, What color, paint or stain would you finish it in? I thank You for any input given!

I love giving gifts but not because it's Christmas. I've done some research on that holiday and some others and I'm not drawn into the commercialism that goes along with these holidays. That in itself turns me off. I like to give a gift when I feel like giving a gift, no matter what time of the year it is. If I see something that I feel that someone I know would enjoy having, or if I make something for someone, I don't wait until Christmas to give it to them.

I love that. My feelings exactly. While I rever that particular day, My take on the gift situation is that if I don't have a deadline, I will procrastinate. Plus it's a fine day to rejoice together for people who live far apart in interests and location.

I would have bright yellow for the seat then bright green for the back, bright red for the sides and the back. A child would love those bright colours , you are so very clever.
