I'm Making a Man Quilt

I have not had much time to be on myLot today, but I have not been idle. I have started a new quilt. I am making it from scraps that I have on hand. Most of the fabric is checks or plaids, so it will be a bit unusual. I think the colors are pretty masculine, and I'm planning on making it for my husband. I am using a basic 9-patch pattern. It will be interesting to see how it comes out with these fabric combinations. I'll keep you posted.

It makes me think of Scotland. It may be "masculine" but I wouldn't mind having one of those myself.

He seems pleased so far. I find it is better to get his opinion than to surprise him.

This sounds like fun. Have you ever done a blue jean one. I think they are great. I love it when people also use the pockets to make it.

@norcal Very nice. I like how it looks and the color you have used. You are good at this. I know people sell them for a lot of money and you have a good talent to make them.

Perfection is not my MO. I try to make my quilts attractive, but they are utilitarian objects. Made to be used, not one of them will ever will a blue ribbon a the county fair.

This quilt is so nice and you are very talented. What a sweet gift! When I was a child, my mom made the similar quilt for me but she used more small pieces of scraps. So my quilt was very funny but I liked it.

I need to get to work on a quilt for my granddaughter. She is one year old already, and no quilt from grandma.

You go girl, I wish I had the patients to make quilts. Actually I wish I had a sewing machine I could operate. Your quilt looks good. Will you be able to finish it by Christmas?
