Mind Control

Is this at all possible? I am talking about mind control. Who here believes this is a major possibility? Well I happen to believe it is. Now, saying this, there are two main sections of mind control. That’s how I see this. For the most part I think most people cannot understand mind control. Some even think it is not possible at all. But lets look at the reality of this whole mind control thing, shall we?
Okay, this would be the first part of mind control. Controlling oneself mind. Meaning, having enough control over your mind to overcome fears or pain or whatever it might be that we would normally shy away from. Some people are able to control their own minds in this way. To be able to avoid the signals from affecting ourselves. With pain, although we feel it, some have the ability to put it out of their minds to endure pain. Same goes with fears. They can keep those fears at bay.
Second part of mind control. This one is important. Controlling someone else’s mind. Some feel it is possible to control other easily. I do believe this. Why I believe this is possible, just take a look around us. We live in a society that has done nothing but control our minds since birth. We were programed to think a certain way. Thus being mind controlled. To be able to control someone’s mind, we need to either have them from a child and mold them into a certain thinking.
Also, the other side to this is to have someone that might have a weak constitution or weak minded. Someone who we know their habits, their likes and weaknesses. Then we can control them without much effort. It’s not trying to change their minds or how they think. It is all in the power of suggestion. This I believe is very possible. Like I said, we were taught to be controlled. But some of us just will not let that happen. But do we really have the power to not let that happen? I don’t think so.
So, what does everyone think about this mind control thing. I would love to hear from you about this. What your views are on this as well as your opinions. Let’s see what comes out of this.

@Jessicalynnt I know they can. But we live this everyday without really realizing this. Although we all believe we think for ourselves.

@sugartoes I doubt it at this point in my life. Believe me. I have seen and heard enough. No more for me.

I think it is hard to exercise self-control ,which depends on what one's disposition is like and how one was brought up .

If you think it can happen, no doubt it can. Perhaps those who are manipulative think they are successful at mind control?

We have the ability to control our own thoughts, which means we can control fear and our emotions. For the most part, I don't think we can control our pain, but I do know that the amount of pain each person can tolerate is different for all. It doesn't mean that those that can endure high amounts of pain are controlling their minds in order to do so, but that their threshold is different than the rest of us.
My mother used to have dental work done of all kinds without having any novocain or other numbing agents. She believes that was due to her undergoing the drill at the dentist when it was slower and louder when younger. Now though, her threshold changed and she can't endure pain as well as she could when younger.
I think you can tell yourself certain things that would help managing pain, but to be able to do that all the time for every circumstance isn't natural or right.

I think you're right. Pain is a difficult thing to control. We all do have different thresholds of pain levels. I never had any numbing agents when I went to the dentist either when I was young. But now it is way different. And besides, we do endure pain in general as we get older. It comes with age. But we manage it.

@MarshaMusselman My mother also. And I am starting to feel what she means. I think once you hit fifty and beyond things change and they are not good ones.

@inertia4 Actually, it may be just the opposite for some people. I find it harder to manage pain, or forget I have it as I'm older than what it was when I was younger. It's easier to break bones and get out of alignment as we age, whereas our bodies are more supple when we're younger.
My mother did better with pain years ago than what she is now. She mentions every little things now and even walking is difficult for her as she'd rather sleep all day long.

It is more than possible it is a fact, also the military and religious sects use mind control. Brainwashing is a form of mind control. Indoctrination into a cult or group of some sort is another form of mind control. Hypnosis can be a form of mind control , abusers use mind control on their victims. Politicians sprouting propaganda is using mind control and so on.

I can't control my mind, but I know how to manipulate myself in doing what I want.
I'm good at controlling my own actions, which will in the end win over thoughts.
Others controlling my mind, sure I have been persuaded into doing things I don't really want to do. But then hey, it's cos I allowed it to happen. Once I decided it wasn't cool any more, that's that. I think mind control sometime can be used as an excuse to avoid accountability of your own actions. That's at least in my experience, and I have met some darn good manipulators. :)

@Drosophila Some things are wroth the risk. Not everything. And those are very rare in this life. I am not saying that controlling ones mind is total protection. It's not. It is just a circuit breaker of sorts to help out and avoid things.

@inertia4 I do think though, taking a risk is worth it sometime. It's ok to let oneself be exposed to the risk of hurt, because it's part of life. Also having a strong mind is not about protecting one from all possible hurts, but to know in confidence, hurt is possible, recovery is a certainty. Sometime it's good to experience things in their totality, because that's how one can be sure there will be no regrets. To love as if never been hurt before is the key. But, that don't mean one shouldn't be shrewd about who to love. :)

This may be true or possible. But majority of people all over the world COULD not control their minds and much more could not control other people's minds. My wife is an example. She could not control her mind telling her not to spend our hard-earned money irresponsibly. He just could not! I tried to control her mind . . "No way, Josey!". she keeps saying.

It takes great discipline to control one's own mind, let alone control the minds of others, unless they are very weak or mentally ill.

Years ago I was having bad migraine headaches and so bad a doctor gave me 2 medicines but never told me not to take both within a short time of each other, after almost having a bad accident with little kids in the car I vowed, no more medicine.
I found out about mind control and TM ( transcendental mediation) and I read up on it and tried to follow it. Meanwhile at the local college a course was starting for mind control and I signed up for it.
After a couple of months I had the hang of it and learned how to block out the headaches as they were starting. I have used it many times during my life and I still do now when I feel any issues coming on. I know I should use it more in my life.

I've thought about that through time. I will say I believe if someone higher than us wanted to do mind control ... they have ways. Already just people who get ahead in life manipulate others by mind control (call it what you will) ... they know how to work others to get what they want. I find your articles very interesting to read.

The secnd one sounds like the book I listening to. It's set way in the future where everyone is brainwashed and they aren't supposed to think for themselves.

mind control is done all the time. Its as easy as placing an idea in the mainstream media, treating that idea as one serious enough for debate - and soon enough, that idea will reshape society. There was a recent movie called The Experimentor and it covered this well.

I have no problem controlling my own mind--and it is usually to be positive! You can only have your mind controlled by someone else IF you give them that power--I don't and I won't!

Interesting topic, but we all have a mind of our own. If we want to be controlled we will be controlled. If, we don't want to be controlled, I do not think anyone would be able to force their control over us.

It takes a lot of efforts, disciple, and practice to control our own minds. It's not necessary, in general, to control the minds of other people as everyone has the freedom to think, to choose, and to live his or her own life.

People that are able to be controlled are easily swayed people. They believe in things others say. I know this because my evil ex is one of those impressionable people. she gets swayed very easy. I always tried to help her see that others were taking advantage of her. But she never listened. Oh well, I am done with her so I am fine now.
