Saving Money Every Way I Can!

I have cut down on all and any unnecessary expenses from now until the end of this month. It makes no sense to splurge now and then be suffering in January with bills everywhere. I am no longer eating out, I stopped buying beer and alcohol until christmas eve and I have no bills pending and my credit cards are clean. Im going to try and save atleast half of my christmas bonus when I receive it next week and keep things simple this year. Do you have any tips and advice on saving up during the holdiays?

I think you're already heading in the right direction! Not spending when you don't need it is already saving. If I want to save, I also buy things when I see them on discount so I don't need to get it later.

I only buy on my credit cards as much as I can afford in my checking account with a little left over as I have been saving it up.

Excellent! Good job! I am terrible at saving money so I just try to earn more. So, that is my suggestion. If your job offers overtime, take it! And of course stay as active as you can on whatever online earning sites you may use. Then put all that extra money asode. Best of luck to you!

I can understand that but even if you make more your still always going to need more, its better to learn to work with what you have so when you can earn more you will literally save more

I find using loyalty rewards programs in your local stores is a great way to save as well as earn extra cash. I also use a variety of websites where they will pay you to shop on them or provide huge discounts. Good Luck.

I have already started saving up for next Christmas. I opened a small CD that I can add to over the year. I don't have much in it yet, I'm only putting in about $10 a month so far, and I'm also saving for a little vacation this summer so most of my extra money goes towards that at the moment, but after our vacation we'll throw more money towards the Christmas account. Then that will mature at the end of next October and I'll have all of that to use towards Christmas!

If you do go to the malls for grocery or other necessities, you can try the samples. I think this is the period where you can collect many samples, and have free sampling of food. If you see good discount for shampoo, shower cream, toilet roll, and other necessities, you can buy in bulk and store at home. At least you will not be tempted to use the money for something else.

This time of year I'm spending more with the holidays just around the corner. Once January comes it will be back to budgeting
