What's so bad about Swearing?

There’s no doubt that swearing is widespread. In fact, while I am taking a walk I saw bunch of children playing and swears several times in each sentence and curing each other. My neighbor have a son age 6 and he swears big time, he cursed his father when he dont get what he want. Youth, didn’t think swearing was such a big deal. They're around it all the time—both at school and at home.
Why is it normal when adults swear, or use vulgar words but when young people do it, it’s considered bad?. I heard my neighbor told her 5 year old daughter that swearing is bad she even pinched her in the mouth but I heard her swearing too. Is there such a right age whether it’s okay to curse? There seems to be a double standard when it comes to age.
In your own, Whats so bad about Swearing?

swearing reduces the open loop of communication. it also reduces your ability to open up with people. I have learned that things are bad when you are doing the swearing. so think about things instead of swearing. i think it should not be normal unless we are among friends.

I think people who swear often tend to be cynical, angry, argumentative, and unhappy complainers. Those who curse whenever something goes wrong reflect the belief that everything must always go right. Those who don’t swear are often calm and mature.

To add to what Skysnap has pointed out, I would also say that - at least among the people I associate with - swearing is generally seen as being used for shock value the expression of very extreme or dramatic anger or emotions. When you swear all the time, however, nothing is shocking or dramatic and therefore it makes you more difficult to take seriously.
Swearing is also not the most clever of ways to express an opinion or thought.

Our words shows whats in our hearts. What we say doesn’t simply reflect the type of person we would like to be—it reflects the type of person we already are. Swearing is disrespectful for me.

It's okay to swear when you are older, but you should still watch where you are doing it at. It's not okay for children generally 12 and under.

Kids don't need to grow up any faster than they already are. Interesting question.

It really is a double standard. Honestly, whether swearing is okay or not depends on the situation more than anything. I think people worry too much about it. As long as the person is also educated and eloquent, I really don't care who does it.

I think swearing is very rude. I make sure I am never around people who swear. I think it is worse when adults swear than when children swear. I can excuse a child who is just learning their manners. I expect a higher standard of behaviour from adults than from children.

I realize this is an older post, nonetheless, it is a very ineresting topic that got me thinking. I am someone who swears, and I can be pretty downright crass sometimes. It's part of the way I express myself and my personality, but I don't swear all the time. And of course, one can say some very foul things without swearing anyway.
Personally, I don't have a problem with younger people swearing per se, as long as they posess the maturity and understanding to put it into context. It has less to do with exact age, and more with the ability to process and cope with the given information. A five-year-old isn't necessarily going to have the same comprehension level and life experience as a 13 or 15-year-old would.
As a general rule, I don't swear in front of young children, around certain family members, or if parents don't want someone swearing around their children. Although, there are some times when it isn't even really considered appropriate for an adult to swear, e.g. in a courtroom. Also, certain conditions like Tourette's, can change the dynamics of swearing, and how to perceive it.
There is a video on YouTube by Vsauce on this very topic. It goes into why we swear, why we consider certain words bad, and even some reasons why swearing can be beneficial. Naturally, there is swearing in the video, but it is bleeped out. Just an FYI, lol.
