Something to Think About

There isn't a post about the weather that I read about the strange warm weather we're having this time of year.
Where I live we have four seasons - Summer, Spring, Fall, and Winter.
In summer we're more than happy to have the season extended when fall begins. No one screams about how late fall is or how warm it still is. In spring we look forward to warmer days and the flowers peeking out of the ground. Yet fall and winter seem to take a bad rap. We're ready to start fall as soon as school starts, even though summer still has three weeks. Though like I said, no one is hurrying the colder weather, we're oohing and aahing over the beautiful fall colors. And then it happens. November gets here and we're all decrying the temps and wishing for or against snow.
Fall started on September 23rd this year. Like every other season it runs for three months. That means winter starts on December 22. We're still in fall for another two weeks. We should still see warmer temps, just like we see those temps remaining the same in the other seasons.
I know that as soon as November hits I start thinking about snow. I start looking for it as early as Halloween and definitely by Thanksgiving. Yet it's still the middle of the fall season. It shouldn't be real cold yet. We shouldn't have snow on the ground yet.
So when you look outside and see green grass and feel the warmth of a beautiful FALL day, remember, it's not winter yet.
Thanks for reading

I love fall and like winter and spring, summer is probably my least favorite season. I hate heat but I do like the long days. I think my Canadian blood just can't adjust to warm weather.

I like the long days of summer too @BelleStarr . The problem here in Texas is that it can get like Vegas weather where it's over 110. We always have several days of over 100 in the summer.

Better to be prepared than not. Especially where I live.

We are having a weird winter. A week or two or weather in the teens and wind. Then two weeks of 50ish weather and rain. Weird. Cute picture.

@celticeagle Very odd. I saw a man walking without a jacket of any kind. It's been in the 50s and my son is in shorts. It's supposed to start going down in a couple days.

I read somewhere that El Nina has really messed with our weather patterns this year

I have lived in places where there are not four seasons and I prefer where I am now that does have four distinct seasons. We are currently having some nice fall temps and pretty falls days. I have started a fire for one exceptionally cool day.

I heard you're getting some cooler temps, almost like what we're getting here.

The only 2 seasons I like @just4him is spring and fall. Summers here in Texas get too hot and since I'm originally from Nebraska, I can't stand the cold. Saying that, it can still get down to zero here in Texas and we've had our share of ice and snow over the years; which I hate. If I could find somewhere that's 85 tops and 65 at the bottom, I'd be a happy camper. Except that would probably be Hawaii and I couldn't afford to live there. Go figure.

I have areas that have broken century old record for not having snow yes this year. Here as I have said before from the end of October til near middle of April the fall. winter and early spring is experienced as we never know what to wear old day sweats and the next day shorts. Thinking about snow we are about due to have and see snow as it has been several years. Kids will love that as just a inch or two there will be a snow day

We are supposed to appreciate and enjoy everything each season brings. unfortunately I am not enjoying winter . It is so cold and my lips got some blisters . And the lowest we get in Israel is even 9 degrees celsius so how much more if it goes below zero :D

The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.
