Being pushed around

I have not worked very hard at settling in and making my furnishings fit this very different space but the deadline is here. I have to have beds and rooms ready and a cookable kitchen. I have brought more furnishings in from the shed and situated a table for @finlander60 and I to eat. No separate dining room here. I even have a folding table here and set up with a Christmas cloth for the grandkids to eat at. I pushed an overstuffed chair from the office to the living room, and I pushed filing cabinets from the same living room to the office/dining space. In between, I downloaded the Chrome browser. I think it is going better for me than the Firefox was. I got the box springs into the front bedroom, and the mattress will follow soon . We had a good evening meal and will probably go to bed a little earlier than usual. I will be checking in but not here quite as much as usual from now until around Christmas. So, do not be pushed around, but enjoy preparing for the season.

Where'd you get all that energy? Pass some this way. Sounds like you'll be ready for the holidays in no time.

The energy comes and goes. I was walking daily before Thanksgiving and I noticed that helped.

@Juliaacv My daughter in law was going to go all out, but has hurt her back. My kids and their kids still need to sleep and have a few meals here. We are talking four kids nine and under. I went and took care of them for a week in June. We are lucky if we see each other that often.

@GardenGerty Our son, his girlfriend and their dog are arriving here this Saturday. We have our in-law's family Christmas party on Saturday, and since the kids live about an hour away, they will spend the night here. I just got finished cleaning the spare room so that they can sleep in there. We go to their place on Christmas day, it is so nice to be pampered over!

I did not like it and it did not fix my script problem. I think I am just too impatient at this time to get used to it.

@Hatley Chrome is actually causing me some problems. I need to remove it and IE which my hubby needs. I will put IE on his computer because I am tired of him messing with mine.

Sounds like you're nearly organised. I am still washing windows. I'm just doing a couple each day. I think it's called 'pacing myself'.

There are some places here that will need deep cleaning when all the cutting up of walls is done.

@GardenGerty Doing renovations can create a real mess. The fine particles seem to get into the farthest corners.

You are one busy woman. I always hated the moving and unpacking and trying to restructure everything. I am sure you will get it all done very soon!

I have not done this for thirty years, and I had lots of stuff at my house that people left with me. It is a process but it keeps me busy.

@GardenGerty For some reason people like to leave things at our house as well. My friend Kim has left a complete room full of stuff at my house twice and left them here for months, years. My older kids still have stuff here.(That is not too hard to believe.) Even one of their ex-girlfriends has a big box of clothes in the attic that she never took back home with her. I don't understand how people can just leave their belongings. I guess they always feel that their items are safe with me.

That is living - getting things organised that is. I had improvised too. I had placed the radio - a first christmas gift for my beloved - on the crate that the radio had come in. I did it up with a nice table cloth.

You have been a busy little bee. Fortunately this Christmas we are visiting my kids so we don't have to worry about making sure we have room for everybody here.

Did you know this. When my grand daughter wanted to rearrange her room and it was limited space she went on line to a free room designer. She entered the size of each piece of furniture and then was able to arrange it like this on a floor plan. Sure saved a lot of time moving it around from one place to another. Might like to try this one to make sure you have the design you like.

I have seen sites like that and also have done it with graph paper and cut outs, took some classes long ago. My spaces are very strange due to it having been a duplex. It would be fun to goof around on the site, though.

@GardenGerty Have fun and good luck. Hope you can get all this done and be happy with your arrangement. I'll be gone for awhile I need to go to the Marquesas for work and not sure when I'll be back again. Happy holiday and enjoy your new home.

when i eventually get my own house again im just going to buy a bunch of blow up furniture. a camping stove and plastic utensils. living out of suitcases for nearly 9 years has given me a healthy disregard for earthly posessions.

My possessions came with me in a very disorganized manner. I would hate living out of suitcases for that length of time.
