At one point or another, everyone comes across a shoebox. Whether from buying your own shoes, or way back when you were a kid, and you got ahold of the box from a parent who had to replace their old worn out pair of work shoes.
Growing up, I loved shoeboxes. They were the perfect thing for treasure chests while pretending to be pirates searching for gold. They were perfect as "pools" for Barbie and her friends. They were perfect holding special trinkets and keeping them safe.
Shoeboxes have been in my life for years. And they haven't really changed. Yes, the lids have become attached now to the body, but that just means they would make for even more authentic treasure chests. They are just as an awesome part of my life as when I was a child and teen. Here's why:
I use s shoebox to hold a good chunk of my photos until I can find the time to find to put them up in frames or albums.
I use a shoebox to organize my crafts (some of them anyway) I have one that holds all of my sewing supplies since I haven't found a good sewing box.
I use a shoebox to organize husband's desk (he goes to college and he games, so random stuff that is hard to find a home), one box for him card games, one for his stationary, etc.
I use a shoebox in my pantry to keep packets of spices and seasoning in order, and one for small boxed goods (like Jello!).
I use a shoebox for my first aid kit.
I could keep going, but I'm sure you get the idea. I'm sort of collecting shoeboxes now with what I have planned for my craft supplies, so the list is practically infinite!
What do you use them for?

I use them mainly for storing small collections of odds and sods. I rarely throw them out as I find a use for them eventually.

I usually ask the stores to give me the shoes without the boxes.
