The Sun Room Christmas Tree

We have a sun room on the back of the house. Its a 3 season room. When it warms up in the spring through the fall until it get too cold we use it all the time. We enjoy eating our meals out there and when friends come over that is where we go. Its not heated and its not insulated. All the windows and doors have screens and glass.
It was an add on to the house built on a deck. Glass on three sides and the brick of the house on the 4th side. It's dry and bug less. we loved it from day one.
Years ago I had a store and put up a fake tree every winter. I hadn't used that tree in a long time but decided a few years ago to put lights at the top of the windows on the porch and added the tree a couple of years ago. It gets taken down after Christmas but the lights are on a timer and shine all year long from dark to bed time.
I was getting rid of some of my ornaments (the ugly ones) and decided to use them on the tree in the sun room. Its cold out there so no one inspects the tree. It also holds my Christmas decorations that I don't have room for in the house. Its a winter wonderland through glass doors.
We used to put lights on the front porch but like them a lot more on the back porch.
If you decorate outside outside, what do you do?
I hope the winter is being kind to you and if you celebrate Christmas, have a happy one.

@jaboUK I get lazy at times too about decorating. Of course with the kiddos I have to get with the program. This year my oldest son climbed the steps to the attic and brought down all of my boxes of decorations for me. That is one of the hardest parts of decorating, getting the boxes down. Hubby and Lil Keith put the tree together and then all three of the young ones helped me decorate it with the plastic ornaments. It was a fun time.

@Shellyann36 I can see that it would be fun with small children around getting excited.

@LadyDuck we have several holly bushes and I love them! My aunt and uncle have used a holly tree as a Christmas tree once. It was beautiful but sad that they cut down the tree. They had plenty of them on their property though.

@Shellyann36 We have put lights on the holly tree, it looks like in the evening. We are not allowed to cut the holly trees, they are protected here in Switzerland.

I hope you win the lottery soon. Ours is just one big room but we certainly love it - no water though.

That looks magical! I hope winter is being kind to you, and the wonderland out there is not too harsh, I would love to see real snow for once, but am used to 9 degrees Celsius being the coldest in the day during our winter. Bug less sounds wonderful, between the mosquitoes and christmas beetles tonight I am swatting and running. :-D

@PaintsOnSlate , so you might not have a white Christmas either... I can't believe how crazy the weather has seemed to change this year.

Its cold but not as cold as it could be here, We're told it might be February before we see snow but I don't believe it. We had one little snow a week or so ago and now nothing!!

We put a strand or two of lights up on the front porch and I have one of those cute Christmas themed flags hanging up. Where my planters and wind chimes are during the warm months I replace them with holiday type chimes.

@PainsOnSlate We are fairly fortunate that way but if it does become windy and they are getting tangled I will have hubby take them down. I don't have to worry about them being knocked down because they are pretty secure. Of course there is always a possibility.

My husband puts up a string of small red lights on the eves of our home. We have a red and a green spotlight that shine on the front of our home. Its understated but very impressive looking. I just love your picture and would imagine that it shines so brightly over your backyard.

@PainsOnSlate Seeing your picture with the lights off except for the tree and the city lights, makes me really want to be there and just sit and relax.

I bet that is so pretty when all the lights are on and it's dark. Great pic. I am not decorating at all this Christmas, I just don't feel like it. Every 3 years Christmas is at my house, so that's next Christmas. We have little ones in the family so I will decorate next year.

We have a lot of lights in the front - wrapped around the porch ratings and columns and in the garage windows. My beautician told us the other day she loves our light!
