I work two more weeks, 8 days, then get over a week off, looking forward to that, haven't had that much time off in quite awhile. I don't know about you, but I dream of the day that I can stay home, maybe actually raise a kid or two, or just write. I don't like being out of the home that much. I am a homebody for the most part. I have never liked working full time, I have too much panic and stress and generalized blech.
Middle of the weeks are always hardest for me, I know my worst and most stressful two days are coming. Perhaps this is why I almost always have a nasty headache those days.
But gotta be an adult right? Gotta pay off a vehicle, and pay bills.
Being an adult is boring, and no fun a good portion of the time, isn't it?

I hope one day you will be able to stay home for a living-ish. I love being home with my children but I also miss making money for my family so it's hard. I make a little bit of money ($100) per week from babysitting but its not much.

As much as I didn't need to be fired from my job 2+ years ago, and all the problems that caused, I too am a homebody and prefer working on my own time. One thing I promised my previous dog, Rascal, was that one day it would be him and me at home full time. It never happened in his lifetime, but it did in Pip's. I'm very happy to be home writing and blogging and having my time to myself. Paying bills is boring but necessary.

My old job was very stressful, and I worked 60-90 hour weeks. I'm glad it's now in the past. Good to hear about your upcoming time off!

I was lucky and quit working 13 years ago when my kids were still young. Now my husband is retired kids are grown and we do what we want. It's really great.

Yeah, I want to be home as much as possible when we finally have kids, until they hit school, like part time only, and maybe not even that

@Jessicalynnt new year's eve should be a national holiday too - they allowed it for the Millennium but it should be every year

@arthurchappell I agree, but we just get the day of. others had asked for it, which stinks as I could have extended my vacation by 2 days, but whatever, is what it is

I am a home body too.. I didn't mind working full time until my first child came.. then it became difficult to leave him with strangers.. and day care.. I struggled for a few years and then made the decision of my life to be a WAHM.
I enjoy being an adult.. responsibilities and all.. I love being a mom the most.

The best day of my life was age 53 when I quit work and became a 'retired' person though not really old enough to retire! I can't imagine working, I blocked that out of my mind. Enjoy your time off, you deserve it.

I guess adulthood brings with it a lot of responsibility. I'm sorry work is so stressful for you.

Nobody likes being alone that much. I don't go out of my way to make friends, that's all. It just leads to disappointment.
