Looking for some new posts in the MOST RECENT folder, I found plenty of faceless people. Reading posts is like having a conversation - however there seems to be so many new connectors that have no FACE to their words.
Its almost like talking to an answering service!
If you want people to read your writings, It would be nice to show us what you are made of. It doesn't have to be the real you if you want some privacy, but then maybe an avatar, or comic pic, or just your beautiful Dog or Cat would do - but really people these little Green myLot avatars with (!) are boring!!
Ducks in a pond have more appeal!

Agreed. It doesn't have to be a personal photo (though that's preferable) but it should be something which says something about you. If you want your ideas to be respected, it helps to upload something which shows your individuality.

Yes. There are some who are still with no profile pics. I don't know what makes it difficult for them to find something to represent them, that is, if they don't like to show their faces. It's not a problem with me because I am using this pic which I did since my more than a year in B.

Not just that - its wonderful to put a face to the writings - they make more sense that way - Well thats how i feel. Every time my hubby changes offices, i get there the next day to see what it looks like, so that I can picture him working. Its kind of the same thing

This has always been my feeling on the subject. No disrespect intended towards those without avatars, but it does give the impression of taking no real interest in the site.
When I first joined Mylot so many years ago, my first act was to upload an avatar.

Yes, I like my celtic knot avatar. it says a lot about me. My Irish and Native American heritage plus my hippie back history when I was young.

I am feeling the same way! I just submitted a few discussions and now they are lost on the "most recent" page in a sea of faceless posts! There are so many! It's usually like this late at night my time.

I have always used my own picture, I have nothing to hide. Lol. But I don't like seeing those green avatars either. Even if it's not a person, something is better than those!

That is very true. It is nice to know who you are connecting with. Even if it is a cartoon character you then become to associate the person with the picture.

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.

Amen! I'm brand new here so I haven't explored much... but it always blows me away how people can go so long without a profile pic. Social Media 101 stuff. Come on...
