~I Don't Feel Like Being Mommy Today~

Of course I love my children more than anything in this world! But today...well I just don't feel like being mommy. Lol. Ever had those days? If your a mother or a parent you have! I don't feel like being chef, referee, teacher, maid, doctor, hair dresser, etc... I just want to be lazy for one day! Okay, enough joking back to reality...I have to go serve lunch now. Have you ever wanted just one day off from your every day duties?

Oh you are not in that boat alone sister. My evening is filled with feeding everyone, bathes, homework, teeth brushing, bed time story and by that time I am exhausted.

@LovingMyBabies I tried homeschooling the older boys once and it was somewhat difficult. They did not want to be homeschooled and always argued about getting their daily work done. Sometimes trying something different and "fun" with them helped but sometimes it does not. It only lasted a year and I let them go back to regular school. Of course they had been in public school for so many years before I tried the homeschooling, so they were pretty much accustomed to public school and liked it more than homeschooling. Good luck with your kiddos!

@Shellyann36 Lol, I totally feel your pain! Today has just been one of those days. Everything was a fight, they didn't want to do the work I gave them for Home Schooling, they were very whiney, etc... I wanted today off! Lol

Maybe your nice husband will give you a day off.

@totobasso My nice husband works every day, and long hours. A day off for me is nowhere in my future.

@LovingMyBabies Sorry about that! If I lived closer I would come with my 21 year old granddaughter to baby sit.

God yeah sometimes it's so hard getting up in the morning.well sometimes I think just let the kids have the day off from school so they can sleep for an hour longer and I can sleep for an hour longer. Can't wait till they're 18 but even then I bet I'm still doing jobs for them LOL

@LovingMyBabies so true, I mian and complain but I'd do it again and again just to see them smile. Dreading them becoming teenagers

@parveen86 Some days are harder than others, that's for sure. Lol. When they are 18 then you will miss when they were young I'm sure.

Now that all of my kids have grown and left home. I can be lazy all I want and my husband will fix a meal for me.

@jstory07 That is so nice that he cooks for you. =) So sweet. I know one day that will come and I will look back and wish my kids were young again. I try to enjoy every day with them because I do know it goes too fast.

I am sure all of us mommies once at least dreamed the same thing. But not likely to happen.

Yes, I have one of those days every so often. While my hospital stay last year was quite a break from cooking and cleaning, I was still very preoccupied with wondering how the kids were doing. Thankfully my mom was there to take care of them for me.

@Morethanamom We are so weird like that because we think we want a day off but when we actually get it we spend the time worrying about our babies anyway! We can't win.

I'm not a mom but I can understand how you feel. We try to give my sister a day of freedom and take my niece whenever we can. She's a single mom and i know it can be hard with working a full and part time job as well.

We all feel like that sometimes . life can get very tiring and sometimes a bit of me time is called for. Get a babysitter and have a couple of hours doing something else.

Yes, I ever, in fact I often want to free from my daily duties as a mom. I can't lie that I often feel boring stay at home for caring my children, but when I remember it is the best job for me at the moment, I try to forget my ambition to reach my dream.

@srisahara I used to work full time outside of the home and I hated it because I missed my children so much! Being a mom can be tough sometimes but it's so worth it too. =)

Oh heck yes. I have afternoons where I don't really want to take a kid client hiking or bowling or whatever. I'd like to be around grown-ups and play some music together or just sip some beverage or another and have a grown-up conversation.

@TheHorse Lol, yeah I do sometimes miss the adult interaction but I missed my kids more when I wasn't home with them.

Many times over the years but in the end you are the mother and they are the children. And they grow up. And they leave home to go to college. And they get jobs that takes them far away from us and we miss them. Then they find partners and you will wish they were children again so you can hold them and make their lives easier. We all go through it They grow up so fast it will make your head spin. I remember the feeling...I remember what you are feeling and it is NORMAL... Love your babies, they will not be small for long.

@PainsOnSlate I know they get big too fast. I'm glad I stay home with them and have plenty of time with them. I used to work full time outside of the home and I missed my children like crazy, I hated it. I'm grateful to be home with them again. =)

That sounds familiar. I would tell my kids I'm not your mommy I just look like her. They would then laugh at me and say yes you are my mommy. It was kind of a running joke, but I know what you mean.
