Serendipity

Once upon a time
came along my destiny
And empty soul
who befriended me
Was this serendipity?
My heart fell in love
for all eternity
My soul complete
When I turned around
The time has gone
Losing touch
was just too much
Fell to my knees
and began to weep
True love lost
my soul deplete
Many years have passed
The memory never lapsed
The image of your face
brought me to this place
Walking down the street
still feeling the need
for us to meet
To my surprise
like a shooting star
I saw her eyes
And knew it was her
My heart started to beat
Uncontrollably
Again we meet
My true Serendipity

that was very lovely! the meet, the loss and the meet again. I hope this doesnt end up like that one song, "meet the man of my dreams, then meet his beautiful wife..."

This is partly true really. I knew a woman years ago, we both liked each other. But we were both with other people. She went on with her life and I did mine. We lost touch. Finally, we met again. This time we weren't with other people so we hooked up and have been together ever since.

@inertia4 I know someone like that, after his wife passed he met his Highschool love, (widowed) and they have been together ever since!

@Jessicalynnt Well, no one in my story was widowed. But it happened and I am happy about it. I just wish sometimes I could turn the hands of time back and start over with her.

@inertia4 That's the one thing I understand. Life happens. There was a man who I really liked when I was younger and he reciprocated. I felt "safe" and loved with him. I found out he had been looking for me over the years from my cousin. Once I was separated she gave him my information. We talk all the time and I have seen him several times, unfortunately I think we live too far apart and we are still in two different places in life.

Thank you. And it is about reality. This really happened to me. The woman I am with I knew before my wife at the time. And that's the woman i should have been with from back then. But there was a situation where I couldn't cross a line of respect. Maybe I should have.

Very nice poem @inertia4! Serendipity is definitely something worth writing about and experiencing. I have a poem tucked away somewhere by the same title, but from quite a different perspective and not as well-written as the one that you have presented! Well done!
