Love-a Fairytale?

I have a friend who used to like a guy to bits.She wrote all kinds of lovely poems about him,describing his physical features,describing their meetings and her deep romantic feelings for him.That was like about 3 years ago.Today she treats him like a complete stranger. Pathetic right? I mean I don't understand what love actually is! If you read those poems,it would move you to tears,so powerful her feelings were.Where are they gone now? Their don't-know-each-other relationship today doesn't justify the depth of emotions in those words.I would put that poem up here if myLot wouldn't have this Strict-English-only rule. My doubt is how do people love so deeply and then move on so easily? Don't they feel empty next time they get attracted to someone,since they already spent all their love on their first love? Like how do they even fall in love a second time?? Do you guys think the same way too? :/
