My Phone is Slowly Charging

Just the other day, I have trouble with my mobile phone internet connection and now my phone is charging very slow. I do not know the problem. I tried to use my mom's charger because we have the same brand of phone but charging is still slow. My phone usually charges in 2 and a half hour but now, it takes 5 hours. I think that is a lot. Shall I reformat my phone? Shall I buy a new battery?

Your phone will charge a good deal faster if you switch it off (or at least put it in flight mode). You should certainly switch off the Internet connection because that may be repeatedly trying to connect, which will use power and thus make charging slower.
A battery which is dying will be able to hold less power and will have a shorter life between charges. This often means that it will take less time to reach 'full charge' rather than more.

Haven't tried putting it to flight mode. I switch off already my internet connection but still not improvement.
Yes, I remember my phone's battery really drained to zero percent. That might triggered the problem.

@kaichoukebz It depends on the phone. A few phones will refuse to charge again if the battery drains to zero. The solution is usually to remove the battery, wait for about a minute and then reinsert the battery, then put it on charge. Make sure that it charges to 100% before using it again.

Have you tried restart the phone? If every means have been tried, you should turn to the product services.

Yes, I tried already restarting my phone. There is still no improvement. Turning to the product service center will definitely be my last option.
